  • Hopefully all these OF prospects work out, but I wouldn't pencil any of those guys in for a future OF just yet. 1 guy has a .175 batting average at the major league level in over 100 games. One is on pace for about 250 Ks at AA this season, and the other has 1 career home run in 577 minor league ABs. It's not a sure thing Anderson won't be needed out there.

    • Speaking of Harrison I tried looking it up, but I have to wonder what the record for strikeouts by a minor league player in a season is. Right now he has 153 strikeouts in 93 games. 45 games left, by my calculation he's on pace for 227 strikeouts this season. 138 game season, the major league record is 223 strikeouts in a season for 162 game season. So I would think that has to be getting up there.

          Yep.

Diaz has been much better after a slow start though, and Yamamoto is everything we had hoped for, for who he is?

I hope this isn't a situation where Burke Badenhop becomes the best player you get in a deal.

          • When Maybin hit that bomb a couple of days ago, all I could think of was a decade later, and I still don't understand why he's not a better player.

I see the OF as Brian Miller/Brinson/Harrison with Lee/Sierra as 4th OF and if we sign Victor Victor he could be in LF
That's depressing for sure. No matter how hard I dream, can't see Brinson and Harrison as major leaguers.

Because he is rather awful at hitting. Won’t ever forget that 16 for 32 stretchhw had the first time he came up for us though

And if there’s one thing lee stone is known for it’s his great minor league player evaluation

Even so, you would think he would run into more home runs than he does with the power he obviously has. Blows my mind he's never had more than 10 home runs in a season. If you keep all of his stats the same and just turn him from a guy who hits 5-6 homers a year to a guy who hits 18-20 homers a year, all of a sudden you have a pretty decent starting CF.

That's kind of full circle to Brinson - who has 10 HR this year and easily is pacing at 20 even batting one fucking eighty six. A .240/.300/.425+ Brinson is going to be a pretty good player, just like BJ Upton was dramatically better then Cameron Maybin. I'm really OK with Brinson doing that. I think he can as June was markedly better.

I haven't given up hope on Brinson, I think he could very easily become the player you're suggesting. That being said as of right now, he is a long way away from being a .240 BA, .300 OBP hitter.

He did it in June, and his BABIP is obnoxiously low, so I kind of feel he may not be a long way from that? We'll see though

Sounds like Mejia and more to Pads for Hand and Cimber.
