Gimenez is Mets #1 prospect and I agree if he is centerpiece it better be 4/5 guys. Also Gimenez can stick at SS which bumps value up.
I guess, id still need something like Gimenez, Matz, Dominic smith, and a 4th high upside arm for JT and a reliever.

Martin Prado played 5 innings at extended spring training. When he returns to 3B Brian Anderson is expected to play in Right Field. Initial stages of work there. Anderson is also working some at First Base.

What do you guys think? I'm okay with that. Maybe we can deal Prado at the deadline and a little flexibility is always good.

      • Anderson is long term 3B. They are trying to get stuff for Prado

Another option is trade Castro by deadline then play Prado at 2B and BA 3B again

Don't mind BA in OF or 1B

        • If it's minor time in RF/1B for Anderson, OK.

But groom him as the 3B and leave him there. If someone beats him out, then move him.

That being said, I hope he ends up at 1B because that means Nelson is awesome.

          • Been wondering what the move for Prado has been for a while. This makes a ton of sense and would lend credence to the view that he can no longer play OF given his age and injuries. Im cool with it cause i think Anderson has the athleticism to play RF and I think the more important part is having his bat in the lineup and developing and we have a hole in RF anyways.

            • Moving Anderson to RF is dumb. I'd rather send him down to AAA and save his service time until you can deal Castro or Prado.

why would that be dumb? Its the best way to get all our veteran bats daily plate appearances to boost their trade value, he'd only be there for a couple months, and he has outfield experience from college and its the biggest hole in our lineup at RF. Makes all the sense in the world.

“The plan” is for Wei-Yin Chen to make his season debut vs and start vs Colorado on April 27th.
So our rotation could look like Straily, Urena, Chen, Smith, and Peters? Wouldnt be nearly as terrible as its been thus far as long as chen can stay healthy and pitch like hes pitched when healthy (unlikely but still)

                • I'd rather he continued to work on improving at 3rd base. That's where his future is. It's not like we're playing to win now. Plus like I said save his service time. The whole fucking lineup is a hole.

it will only be till the deadline when we trade Castro or Prado or even Bour. Just a way to keep him up here developing with the bat and getting all the veterans ABs for trade value purposes.

                    • jb shuck goes 4/21 to start the AAA year, and then of course starts the year for the marlins 2/2 with a triple because baseball.

in other news straily was horrible in his start tonight for Jupiter. Not unheard of for a guy coming off an injury but hopefully it was just rust and not reaggravation of an injury.

Juan soto just hit his 4th hr of the year in 8 games, this one against our greensboro affiliate. I would honestly trade JT straight up for him.

I dont think ive ever felt like a player has been as overmatched at the plate as Chad Wallach. Even the single he just hit was a completely unintentional blooper into RF

                      - - - - - - - - - -

Only reason im blowing up this game thread without being responded to is because i gotta wake up early tomorrow so i cant do shit tonight, but dillon peters hair is phenomenal. Id give him an extra start or 2 even if he struggles based on that flow alone despite his lackluster fastball.

Lol this last one. Maybe he'll get a QS today or even go 7/8. His only mistake was the HR ball

Is it only me or DD runs kinda weird in the outfield? Like he isn't like that around the bases.

DD runs like he has absolutely no feel for playing LF at all, which is normal for a natural SS/2b/3b. I like Peters as a back end of the rotation potential guy, but that last start was horrific. Nice bounce back start though thus far.

that post should go as one of the most ridiculous in the sites history (the 35 win one, not yours). I dont think people understand how hard it is for a baseball team to only win 35 games. Basketball or football its possible for teams to be just historically bad like that, but not in a sport like baseball. Like i said when that was posted, people need to look at that tigers team that was the worst of all time. this team isnt close to being as bad as that one was.

yeah I like him as a 4-5. At least he can eat a few innings in these transition years. I guess it was the cold/differences in ballpark.

also just could have been a bad start and that phillies lineup isnt bad. I dont take april stats that serious just due to small sample size and especially this year with the crazy cold weather.
