i would have let him go one more, but if the bullpen does its job we should win. This love of guerrero, ogrady, and the other worst arms in the pen is ridiculous though. Guerrero is terrible.

Took a nice little last minute -1.5 marlins alternate line at +245 cause i like peters pitching in miami thus far in his career and thought we could hit Kuhl. Turned out nice thus far.

i use betonline.ag from an old ass account. I like betting moneylines for basketball parlays more than anything but ill bet baseball every once and a while despite the fact that i never get money out of the account any way. Bet the marlins with that money line and another parlay between the astros, yankees, and cards moneylines that look good as long as the yanks hold on to a big lead and the astros hang on to a 2 run lead. ill never get the money out just cause ill lose it betting stupid shit before i ever decide to cash out, but its a fun way to make regular season sports more enjoyable to watch.

ya unless im betting in an actual sportsbook and betting using actual cash its just an excuse to make sports more enjoyable to watch because i know ill rarely take the money out. i had a ridiculous betting experience where i had a ridiculous hot streak and got a ridiculously small amount of money that i put in and bet it up to near $1000 and stupidly put it all on a sure win basketball in game money line for a team that was up 20 to just win 100 bucks and the team blew the lead so since then i just use it to make watching sports more fun.

Im much smarter betting, as im sure how it works for everyone, when youre actually making bets using cash in a real live sports book. Any type of betting is a bad bet just because the odds like any kind of betting are usually against you.

really nice win. Great bounce back from peters, good outing from the bullpen, and good hitting and smart baseball from guys like bour and Shuck is the player of the game by far both offensively and even defensively.

It's a small sample size, but he's holding lefties to a .550 OPS so far in his career. I think he has the ability of maintaining that.

Could be, but relievers just emerge sometimes. Especially specialists. I kind of like him as a LOOGY, that's all. We'll find out for sure this season.

I'm just thinking something like this. O'Grady is obviously the least important name here and could easily be replaced by anyone who gets out lefties. He has a clear path to this role though, as the organization is pretty low of lefties. Maybe I'm just hopeful, but this is a real nominal concern.

The Marlins tapped into the Colorado prep ranks in 2014 to land right-hander Jordon Holloway in the 20th round and then sign him to an above-slot bonus ($400,000). The organization took a similar approach in the 2017 Draft, as they once again selected a high-ceiling prep hurler from the Centennial State in the 20th round in Matt Givin. He signed for $458,000 to forgo an Xavier commitment, and then stood out during an impressive pro debut in the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League.

Givin proved more advanced than expected during his time in the GCL, pitching to a 0.39 ERA with a .198 opponents' average and 19 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings (seven starts). Specifically, he showed good feel for commanding a low-90s fastball that should gain several ticks with added strength. He complements his well-located heater with a low-80s curveball with good depth and a changeup that has at least average potential, The latter projects as a better secondary pitch, receiving above-average future grades from evaluators.

Givin's lean, athletic frame makes him one of the more projectable pitching prospects in Miami's system, with some club officials even comparing his overall profile to Zack Greinke. That, of course, represents the young right-hander's ceiling, though his solid three pitch-mix and above-average control also suggest the floor of a back-end starter at the highest level.

With our current SP prospects its not worth putting up a potential bullpen 3 years from now. We have more than enough arms who are at worst quality relievers in the future. Good news though, we'll have plenty of pitching depth in the pen but hopefully at least a couple of these guys can establish themselves as long term starters and then we have the inevitable top picks in the next few drafts and then you still have IFA and then when these guys establish themselves and still have team control we can hopefully spend money smartly in free agency like the cubs did on a guy like Lester who can be a rotation rock.
