Edit- and dont blame the BABIP or luck. He has a babip of .362. He has terrible plate discipline. It's why he is and will always be a 4th OF who hits the ball hard and doesnt bring much else to the table. It was a meaningless hot streak last year that wasnt indicative of who he was for the first 5 months of the year.

Id love to be wrong. Im not. He's a 4th Of. He's got 673 mlb plate appearances of mediocrity and you continue to base everything off of some magical swing change and 2 weeks of production last year while ignoring who he has been his entire career. Im not basing anything off of a month. Im basing it off of who he has been for his entire professional career. You're talking about relying on small samples when every single thing you've based his supposed breakout on is based on a few week period of meaningless baseball. If anything, this 1 month sample is bigger than any breakout sample you're basing your opinion off of from september of last year. He was terrible for 5 fucking months last year and had a hot streak. You're the one basing any kind of expectations of him on a small sample.

He is what he is, which is fine. It's a 4th OF. He strikes out a ton (5 K game last week). He does not walk. He provides negative value defensively (got hit in the face with a routine line drive). He is a horrendous base runner. His 1 skill is hitting the ball somewhat hard. That's about all he does. The second you and the team realize that and look forward to potential upgrades the better off we will all be. He's not a problem, but he isnt any kind of longterm solution. He's 672 Pa's into his career and has a 1.7 WAR, the vast majority of which is based off a 2-3 week run that is far and away from anything he ever has been in his entire career. He's a major league player, he just isnt a starting caliber player. But sure, keep touting that swing change. It's remiscent of XYZ player is in the best shape of their life on the first day of every spring training.

Also, there is no corner being turned from Soler. there is regression. He is what he is, and that's a quality MLB DH. Nothing more, nothing less. His baseball savant page is off the charts. No one is expecting him to be a superstar. But he will hit 30-35 hr's, hit with a low BA and OBP, and have a good OPS due to his slugging. He is fine. No one has ever called him a super star.

garcia goes to the IL with a back injury. Xavier edwards up to make his debut. Hope he sees some action before wendle comes back in a few days. he's had a great start to the year in AAA. looks like he did his first few minor league years. hitting .306, .788 OPS, 7/8 SB's, 15 walks to just 8 k's. they should keep trying to poach guys who get caught in the rays 40 man roster crunch every year.

if Xavier edwards can become a long term option at 2b, arraez can take over at 1b if cooper leaves or moves to DH with Soler potentially leaving. They still need some power bats but id guess it's on the table. They got him for nothing but he was a high pick and a low end top 100 guy for a few years before last year. He's a pretty prototypical 2b. Hit's for average, good OBP, limited power, steals bases. interestingly he was playing a little bit of CF for AAA too so far this year. He has 7 steals this year after 7 all of last year in AAA for tampa.

Or spending weeks arguing about trading for arraez to put him at 1b and now consistently pushing that as what they will do in the future because you now see the bat plays everywhere, or being stupid for not paying for michael fulmer when he now has a 6 ERA, or saying how they are dumb for not getting wacha when he now also has a 6 ERA, or thinking that Stallings is a remotely competent catcher, or thinking that elvis andrus does anything to help this team because of 1 month after years of being terrible and now he has .519 OPS overall and .582 OPS against lefties so far, or being adamant that Yuli Gurriel instead of andrus is a terrible move because it creates a log jam somehow and he's been solid, or being adamant that DLC is some breakout waiting to happen and you're going to be waiting the rest of your life, or trading assets and paying a lot of money long term for career .708 OPS amed rosario. You're the smartest guy in the room, yet you're not only wrong most of the time, you're obnoxiously loud wrong, and im really not sure how many games you actually watch versus just looking at fangraphs and relying exclusively on them telling you what to think despite their projections consistently being wrong every single year.
