he did what he’s done all year. Struggle with command while striking out a lot. He will continue to do that all year and pitch well against the bad teams and be inconsistent against the good teams with his command

Interesting pitching story in Justin Steele for Cubs (today's starter). The lefty, who was their 21st ranked prospect in 2021 before advancing to big league (F/V 40), shares a back story almost exactly like Patrick Monteverde. Early TJS and similar ascension. Here's hoping that Monteverde can pull off the same.

A more contrasting pair would be nearly impossible to come up with. Steele, the relatively anonymous soft-tossing lefty, and Cole, the flame-thrower with the big contract for the most famous team. But that’s the thing about pitchers: All that matters are the results.

Dlc now has 11 k’s and a GIDP in his last 13 at bats, an ops under .700, and a 31/6 k/bb ratio this year

gurriel should play more. Still hitting over .300 with an ops over .800 and he doesn’t strike out much.

stallings has predictably been terrible. After his terrible spring where I think he went 5-30, he’s hitting .136 with a .429 ops

Nic enright made a rehab appearance in Jupiter yesterday. 2 scoreless innings. Should be back within the next few weeks then I’d assume without any set backs.

sixto also threw 34 pitches over 2 innings in a sim game a few days ago. A good sign that he’s progressing
