You look at that roster construction, they could trade Andujar, or ditch Wade, for another SS but thats about it. Honestly, they should do that and get someone like, dare I say Berti, who can play SS/CF. Myles Straw type. It's an awesome roster.
The interesting part is - no Clint Frazier - who is under control for 5 years (with super 2 status). He's probably going to cost around 5/$20-25 as a starting player, unless he becomes Brian Anderson on the field then another $5-10 more. He's solid in LF and importantly, right handed with power. There is major upside with him, and these guys know him our course.
What if the Marlins send them back Caleb (I'm sure they'd love that), and grab Clint, and grab 1-2 other really good minor league pieces to help their roster crunch. You can figure out the value to make it work as their farm is deep. To note, Caleb hits arbitration first of all of the young guys and might be the most expensive, or is floor 3rd most expensive after Anderson/Sandy potentially. This helps a few bucks in payroll also.
You can then spend payroll on a SP instead, and I think it's fair to say you can even do that next year and maybe you go for Alex Wood rehab projects this year and shoot for the moon. This avoids the, committing money a year early issue too.
Just saying. Clint makes a ton of sense to me if the price is right.
