Brigham and Dean are locks to be added. I think Kinley gets added because someone will take him in Rule 5 again

Also we might have the #1 NL Claim spot and #4/5 in Rule 5 which means we should be active in DFA market

That's the thing about Graves-they are gonna keep him on the roster all year just to DFA him next year? Doesn't make much sense

That way they aren't burning up his service time now when the team is going nowhere.

Speaking of the deadline - I read an article today that a lot of people within MLB are pushing to move the trade deadline back to mid August and get rid of the waiver trade period completely.

I would put Twine in AFL and see how he does first. Twine/Yamamoto/Brian Miller/Dylan Lee/Eveld and 1 other to AFL is what I would do

But that helps though, so they are at theoretically 39/40 from my hypothetical (I don't know if anyone knows if Guzman has to go on or not? I'm really confident Monte, Diaz, Yamamoto, Brigham, Dean, and Quijada do as the "new" ones).

You can easily see 10 of those guys not on the 40 man next year. I can see them eating Prado (not Chen though, there is always hope in lefty pitching), trading 2-3 of those guys (Straily, Barraclough, and Castro especially), and there are a few DFA's in those last 7 for sure. They aren't keeping three 25th man outfielders, when they already have Sierra on the 25 man as he's obviously a lock.
So if they like Twine and Kinley? Sure, they'll still have 4-5 more to go assuming the trades don't bring in 40 man guys.
This isn't a real worry to bring it back to Graves. They can protect him one more year if they see something in the arm and no one of real issue is getting booted. Cloyd? Del Pozo? Despaigne? Guerra? Those are the options internally in an either/or debate.

Riddle plays some solid defense and has a little pop. I don't see him as embarrassing. Although his RHP split has mostly evaporated.
Either way, this is pretty bad. They really need to get Anderson and Castro into the lineup, and get Brinson, Dean, and Cooper onto the roster to give them "hope."
