          • Cozart out for the year which means LAA could use a Castro or Prado(Expect them to look at others but always possible)

They are 9 games back with basically their entire rotation hurt. Can't see them making real moves.

But their owner spends money and isnt going to tank. Moreno has no problem trading prospects or buying players

I doubt they are interested in either of them BUT still hear they are interested in our pitchers even tho they are far back

Milwaukee is VERY interested in DD.

I would take one of their toolsy OF(Grisham/Lutz) and an arm like Diplan/Mederios for DD however the market is pretty big for him so
Nevermind looks like DD just broke his collarbone or shoulder injury

He is staying in but watch MRI will show something and they wont be able to deal him

                  • MLB.com mentions as "interested"

                    DD-Milwaukee and Boston
                    Bearclaw-Milwaukee and Cleveland

Ziegler and DD have interest from Boston. One note is if we trade them there we likely will be paying salary so Boston doesn't go over hard tax line. We like Swihart/CJ Chatham/2 or 3 of their young arms(Mata/Raoudes/Diaz)

Swihart is a good speculative add for sure.

Rusney hitting .310 over last 750 PA in Pawtucket. I think that's worth a risk if Boston eats a lot of money.

                      Pretty interesting - https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2018-international-prospect-board/

Projecting Gaston to Miami - and specially highlighted him as the Marlins going in for big money for a pitcher his age.

yay to spending money, nay to being risky with that (unless they are always going to spend moving forward so go for it!).

Gaston money wise is all over the place. Some say 1 million, some 2 million and other 3 million. But we are signing him on Monday so we will know. The thing is the "Top" Guys were already committed so I dont mind adding talent like Gaston even tho costs some. But from what I hear-we are gonna be big players in IFA market starting 2019(Spending ALL cash and maybe even getting more)

I would take a chance on Swihart. Problem with Boston is they are against hard cap which means ANY guy they get either money has to be included or money has to be going out.

Market for all of our guys is pretty large. DD/Ziegler/Bearclaw/Steck/Conley/JT all have multiple teams. Bour/Straily/Castro/Maybin/Holaday/Urena/Rojas have 1 or 2

                        • Nice little AAAA team for Alcantara to get a smoother major league transition. Its also hard to put into words how bad the mets are and how bad their future is.

                          • Nice to see Alcantara get his first win in his first Marlins start tonight. He wasn't sharp by any means, but he hung in there for five. It was something to build on.

Alcantara just didn't have command of his fastball tonight...he'd get ahead of batters buy couldn't spot the fastball where he wanted it. His secondary pitches were very good though. Still he was tough to hit, so like you said, it was a performance to build on.

Good to know that the Marlins will finally become big players in the International market...we always should have been, but Loria...

I'd love to see us go sign Victor Victor Mesa who will apparently sign next year.

Ya this year it was hard because most guys were already "committed" for 2018. We should have 3.5-4 million still once we sign Gaston(it will be less once other signings are announced) but probably 2.5 million left to either try to get 1 of the Mesa Brothers or even trade it for some prospects.

One thing about the Mesa Brothers is if they are announced as FA before July 1,2019 that means teams have to use 2018 pool cash on them unless they wanna wait until July 2

2019 it looks like we will be players
