It doesn't hurt that he's clearly a smart hitter. He forces deep counts, has a solid hit tool but also incredibly good at drawing walks, with room to grow in the power department. His potential is very similar to what we had with Logan Morrison before some hitting coach told him to start trying for more home runs and ruined his swing.

Not to mention he's an above average defender and can move positions in the future if need be. He should become a fan favorite in no time.

Brinson somehow on pace for 25 hr's still. Still want him to go down and work on the plate discipline though. IT was obvious for service time reasons that sending him down after spring training was the right move, at this point it is absurd that he's still up here given how bad this team is regardless. If they do insist on keeping him up though lets hope he can salvage the rest of the year.

There is this growing call from people around the team in the media to call up Alcantara and they are acting as if its ridiculous and a travesty that we havent yet and i just dont get it. I dont think people realize he is a top 100 prospect but not this Kopech type prospect. Hope they arent expecting Alcantara is a future #1. He still has some things he can work on in AAA and theres no need to rush him. Let him keep going deep into games and get the K rate up a little bit and get him up when we hopefully deal Straily and possibly Urena and ideally Chen at the deadline.
Im very interested to see what they do with their SP prospects towards the end of the year. WE have a bunch of guys who could make the case for a promotion and being in the rotation down the stretch between Richards, Peters, Gallen, Alcantara, Lopez, Neidert, Jarlin, plus Hernandez and Smith already being in the majors and Chen needing to be on the team financially. I hope we just play it safe and kind of let them alternate starts in order to get them all involved and just be around the big leagues for experience down the stretch cause I think that can be valuable and then have a complete free for all in spring next year.
Its obviously a long ways off but as of now it looks like the rotation battle for next spring could be super interesting and for the first time in a while its not just because we have a lot of mediocre options battling it out. Instead, we actually have like 6-8 different young club controlled guys who you could make a legit argument for as a possible rotation piece starting next year.
I think a best case scenario in their minds for next year is Urena, Ca. Smith, Alcantara, Chen, and Richards/Peters. With the other one of those in AAA, and Neidert as next starter up. I see Elisier, Jarlin, and Gallen headed to the bullpen.

Brinson is way better in CF than Yelich.
