It's kinda sad their doing a pretty cool 25th anniversary celebration with all these old Marlins and there's no one there.

I was there last night. You would hope that every regular poster on this forum who lives within 90 min goes to at least 1 game this weekend.

now that fs florida has rehired tommy hutton, we only need them to bring back rich waltz and swap the two of them in for the cackling doofuses we currently have in the booth for broadcasts to be somewhat enjoyable again.

Just catching up after a little weekend trip, but the Tommy Hutton news is awesome. I know he's not in the booth as of right now but i think he will be next season if he even wants to do it at this point in his life. I dont think Severino and Hollandsworth are bad but the voice thing is just kind of impossible to overcome. I really hope they bring back rich and tommy next season and I think it would be a big move in terms of fan interest as those guys really are a good duo in the booth and actually make it feel like a marlins game as opposed to it currently feeling like we're watching a MLB network game.

When I got to my seats last night, there was an envelope on it inviting me up to a suite. It was obviously to get people to sign up for ticket packages, but it was neat to go up into a suite. Interestingly, nobody approached me (and my brother/family friend) while I was up there. I did see the new VP of tickets/sales, Travis Apple, there when we left the suite, but didn't talk to him or hear the expected speech I figured he'd give, though he may have done it after I left.

I also saw team employees timing concession lines, which indicates they've identified that as an issue.

It's good to see that they're paying attention to details like that.

Beyond that - I too am hesitant about catering too much to latin/miami vibe. Not saying they shouldn't, but not every fan there is latin. I also would like to see them work on a better way to get people to the park. I think they lost a lot of broward fans with the move......there's nothing they can do about the location, but it's just inconvenient to drive down, and terrible to get back with only the single northbound lane on 395.

Yeah. I live up in Sunrise and to get to the ballpark it's a hassle. For Saturday's game I had to leave at 1:30, got there at 2:30 to get the towel. We got home around 8:30 and my mom was like "crazy that we spend our whole day there". On weekdays it's even worse with all the traffic and 7PM starts. I wish they had a express bus or I could get there without having to drive 1H.

I hate when they have the Latino bands playing the drums super loud.

On Friday I went to the special event on 5th base. It was pretty cool and I wasn't approached by anyone either.

I completely agree on the catering too much to latin/miami vibe. You can do some stuff but i feel like its a little bit much.

And agreed on the finding better ways to get fans from the stadium to the highway. Ive gotten lost in a bad neighborhood before trying to find how to get back to 95 because the cops were demanding people from a certain garage go only one way.

I live in Parkland and it only takes about an hour.

I’m not a big Minervini fan as the play by play guy, but at least he has some “home team” energy to his calls.

I wasn't a fan at all when I heard Minervini on PBP last year, but from what I heard last night, I was pleasantly surprised. I thought he did well.

Minervini is a little rough around the edges, but not terrible. Severino I think could be good eventually, but right now the broadcast team is pretty vanilla, not bad but not a ton of personality. It took a while for me to get on board with Rich though, too. By the end I really enjoyed Rich I thought we never should have let him go. I like having Tommy back for pre and postgame, but I don't think I want him back in the booth. Tommy being back does seem to pretty much confirm the stories from back in the day that Loria got him fired for being critical of the FO.
