i dont remember mattingly being this horrific at in game decision making. he hasnt been given a great roster but just ridiculous bullpen decisions nightly.

i hate pinch running for your best players anyway. Having bour stay in there was the right move, having your slowest runner sent home when the short stop has the ball and your slowest runner has barely crossed 3rd is the issue there.

bour could absolutely kill someone but i dont even think that play was close enough to allow that to happen under the old rules. he was out by so much the catcher would have just caught the ball and run up and tagged him before he could murder the catcher.

great play by castro there. i really dont think this team will be as bad as people think if we dont blow up the team far in advance of the trade deadline as far as the other veterans are concerned..

I don't know why people think that we would be so bad this year. Castro and Maybin are turning into good assets.

i dont think people understood how many veterans were left on the roster, specifically in the lineup. But even though Jeff Passan is an enormous marlins hater he said he quoted an exec as saying we would win 50 something games which is not only ridiculous but incredibly hard to do. When healthy our lineup isnt bad at all, we're just lacking a ton of power but still have positive WAR players 1-8 (maybe not Cooper since we dont know enough yet but i still think his bat is decent enough). Our rotation is a huge unknown but our bullpen is really good. We're closer to 70 wins IMO than we are 55. I think we end up somewhere between 65-70 which still sucks but isnt nearly as bad as people who love to shit on the marlins want to think we are.

Im interested to see which catcher goes down when JT comes back. I think Holaday also sucks but it makes more sense to give him the backup job since JT will start 5 games or so every week and let Wallach go down and get everyday ABs in NOLA. Its pretty clear they dont view telis as a catcher.

Also, given Anderson's ability im interested to see what role prado has upon returning. He's played 2b and LF too in his career but dont know if he still has that ability given his age and the specific injury he's had, specifically as it comes to LF.

I dont think Yelich is just a little better than DD i just think people underestimate how hard it is to be as bad as some people think we might be. Go look at those Astros teams that had those 3 straight horrific years and the worst team of all time in the tigers that 1 year. Those are teams that didnt have anywhere near the talent we have, and im not complementing how much talent our team has as much as im hoping people go look at those rosters and see how bad they were and how hard it is to be that bad.
