I think we'll take a look at B. Lee leading off. Have to start manufacturing runs.

no we wont because he wont ever be starting permanently this year.

      • Gotta imagine Realmuto ends up leading off

Also think Brinson will be in the minors until July - buy enough time down there to a) get seasoned and b) get an extra year of control

        • Sounds like Dustin McGowan is coming back on minors deal

          • Brinson rates as the best defensive player in baseball so far so he has that working for him.

            You’re worse than Mike Hill.

            • one thing brinson also has going for him according to someone frisaro retweeted is that he has been incredibly unlucky which is normal in such a small sample size.

#Marlins youngster Lewis Brinson has caught more eyes in the field so far, but don't sleep on his bat.

Brinson's .214 wOBA is a full 139 points lower than his .353 *expected* wOBA (#Statcast's quality of contact metric) -- one of the biggest gaps in MLB so far. (CC @JoeFrisaro)

How so, Erick? He has made a couple great catches, true. He also played a Franco warning track fly into a triple yesterday. That said, I believe B Lee is actually rated as superior to Brinson defensively - he's both faster and has a bigger arm. B. Lee ( despite playing a 122-game minor league schedule) led all of basebal with 18 assists last season. The major league leader had 16.

                  • Braxton Lee like a good chunk of our lineup cant hit himself out of a wet paper bag. However I would rather burn his control than Brinsons.

According to MLBProspects, Lee rates 70, 55, 60 for run, arm and field compared to 60, 55 and 60 for Brinson. I have seen Lee's arm rated higher. Lee was also 4-4 on SB this spring compared to 0-4 for Brinson. I hope for the best for every Marlin - and certainly won't diss B Lee, esp after he won the SL batting crown.

                      • braxton lee also went just 20/33 last year in actual real games and is just 68/113 in is career whereas Brinson is 96/132 in his career. You really dont know what youre talking about when it comes to prospects.

Other than elite speed, Braxton Lee has no major league starter qualities.

I couldn’t watch the game yesterday. The defense # wasn’t my opinion; it’s based on Fangraphs current metrics.

As for Braxton Lee, I wouldn’t mind him playing some more. It just seems like you base your opinions on small samples (or, even worse, Spring Training stats). The reality is that none of these guys should be leading off on a real team. But since we decided to keep Brinson up here in an irrelevant year, I don’t mind him getting the most at bats since he’s our best prospect. Lee can’t hit either, so who cares? And the Isaac Galloway ideas you have make no sense.

Galloway two doubles last night in a New Orleans win.

Would really like to see Nick Williams in RF for Marlins. With a logjam in Philly's OF, he may well be available.

                              • Braxton Lee is 5'10 180 on a good day!! Has a solid arm and good speed but is best a 4th OF.

His #1 tool is his bat/contact. Makes good contact but has NO power

Lewis Brinson is 6'5 220 and has 5 tool stuff.

His worst tool is his bat/contact. Tons of power but contact is iffy
