And yet they are the worst team in the national league. Arraez now hitting .398 with just under a .900 ops with the padres and we have eury and sandy back next year. Maybe, just maybe, they shouldn’t have traded their best hitter when they had a window of contention the next two years that we all acknowledged

Being 1 game over .500 in May is far more important moving forward. It means despite the shit show that is large portions of this roster, there’s a non-zero chance they can actually compete sooner than later if they do things right. It also means the players they’ll almost certainly trade are helping their trade value. If you’re going g to throw out that they’re “still in last place in the NL” we can also note they’re only 8 games out of the wildcard. We all know that there’s no chance that they end up in that race, but it means just as much right now as being in last place does.Last edited by sports24/7; 06-01-2024, 01:00 PM.

Seriously, though, what’s the point? I completely get your frustration, and I think your descent from glass-half-full homer to apoplectic doom and gloom is the perfect encapsulation of what this franchise can do to fans who care. But there’s no reason at all to keep going on and on about the same thing. The deal happened. It’s probably not going to end up well for Miami. But there’s no going back. So why keep bringing it up on almost a daily basis? If it’s a catharsis thing, you can do it in the offseason thread or create a new one.

That’s what’s fascinating about this rebuild. It could 100% be a quick rebuild if they commit to those pitchers and make a couple of moves in FA. I wonder if more likely they sell more than we think and go for a longterm build.

Yeah Craig Mish. The Marlins Insider who's right 20% of the time. The No-Talent commenting on the talented.
Sixto might be cooked but no one with half of a brain takes Craig Mish seriously after all of his "hot takes" fizzled the last couple of years.Last edited by Namaste; 06-03-2024, 08:30 AM.

Also, sixto was talented. He is no longer talented. He throws 94, misses 0 bats, is fat as shit, doesnt take his profession seriously, and is consistently out of shape and not ready to pitch.

Mish is the best reporter we have covering the Marlins. But he still sucks. If he spent 1/2 the time criticizing the front office and ownership that he does criticizing Sixto maybe I'd take him a little more seriously. Occasionally he'll get a scoop or have some inside info, but most of the time he's shilling and making excuses for the organization.

IF you think he's making up how unprofessional sixto is for some sort of personal vendetta, it's just another example of you being a homer. It is abundantly clear to anyone watching sixto since his big league debut that he does not take his craft seriously. He's been in shape for like 1 week out of his entire marlins tenure. some injury stuff you cant prevent, but you can prevent how you approach the game and your professionalism and readiness. If you think it's a coincidence that the only guy skip has called out in 2 years is him, that's on you. he's done. you just don't want to admit it because you took a victory lap over 8 spring innings. he stinks.

There is 0 reason why they couldnt have started to re-tool instead of going on a full on 3+ year rebuild, which is exactly what they are doing whether you want to realize that or acknowledge that yet until they trade Luzardo and Scott for more 20 year olds. If the offers were meager at best and he wasnt valued that highly, then why couldnt he have been signed to an extension that worked for both sides?
Here are some more quotes from Mish- Marlins place Sixto Sanchez on the IL with shoulder inflammation. 0-3 6.06 ERA. I have never seen more opportunities wasted by a player here. Long time.
"It’s not the player’s fault he got injured but there are organizational procedures in place to do the best they can to keep the player healthy. One would surmise if those are completely ignored, over and over again, along with proper conditioning and preparation, it would be more likely something like this can occur."
"He’s been here 1.5 years and has never called out a single player except this one. You have no concept or context of what went on the past 4 years so I understand your confusion. Will detail one day. Thanks."Last edited by fish16; 06-04-2024, 10:37 AM.
