I don’t remember either. I do remember being like right at .500 on July 4th with Max Meyer getting called up and then the wheels completely fell off.

We probably started with an easier schedule through the first 21 games last year.

Same. Glad I’m not losing it.

on another note, sixto posted a video of his bullpen yesterday. Once again it looks like he’s not throwing anywhere near 100% unless I’m just looking at the video and not seeing something. Still nowhere close to a rehab assignment by the looks of it let alone being back in the majors

        • If I was in Vegas I would lay the -124 on Cleveland today. We have our beast Luzardo going yet we are an underdog against a LHP coming up from the minors who has a very good change up. Hope I’m wrong.

I saw that, I have no idea why we would be an underdog today

Because the books want people to bet on the Marlins

That must be painful to watch. Actually, I wouldn't even watch if it's that bad lol.

All I remember is Don seemed in full lame duck "I don't care" status for 85-90% of the season, but Kim stuck with him.

I think it was Bruce and not Kim/FO. Call it a combination of having to pay two managers + Mattingly is very respected and if they are going to suck anyways, who cares. The FO is pretty analytical and there is no way they would ever stand for a right handed reliever coming up against Varsho and P. Smith last year with Okert available. I am so enraged by that decision I remember it a full year later. This one starts from the top IMO, and I do think Kim won this battle as lineups and bullpen usage are vastly improved whether that is coming from her hand picked manager or the FO calling down the moves (or setting guidelines) and Skip following them. I do understand Kim is a punching bag and there are many things to point to from Garcia to Stallings and even if Bruce's payroll is shitty, where is this creative trade for another upside bat as that hasn't happened, but I can't see firing Mattingly being a Kim call. Maybe I am wrong.

Big picture though, I thought a 13-13 start would be a best case scenario with the early schedule and here we are 12-10. Four right handers in a row coming up even if they are good ones and the Atlanta bats are behind them. Just win one and it opens up, relatively speaking, for 2 months.

Yeah, that may be. But for a team culture perspective, it would've shown that they want to actually win instead of clearly throwing in the towel and punt to next season.

                          • Resting Arraez against Strider is definitely a decision.

Garcia is also hitting better than Rosario and Ozuna. Yikes.
