Fulton is injured and out the year. With his second major arm injury. Sounds familiar from what you literally just posted. I’m keenly aware of what the waste of time is here.
BTW judging players on system rank is a poor argument point. Players value diverges very differently system to system based on overall talent. You should go with scouting grades as the 12th guy in one system can very easily be a FV45+ and another a FV40 and this is a big big difference. System rank doesn’t tell this story. This is the equivalent of some dummy thinking Cabrera stinks because he’s a 5th SP. That is an irrelevant data point. System rank is an irrelevant data point.

But they’d probably be able to get someone else to bite with a higher ranked prospect package so I don’t think they have the goods to do this. Texas, Baltimore, Philly, maybe the Yankees. They have better top end guys for this kind of move.

Holy smokes! Marlins draftee Chris Vallimont (from my hometown Erie, Pa. ... Mercyhurst College was right across the street!) will earn a major league wage for at least a few days after the Orioles just gave him the call. He's not good ... as evidenced by a 5 ERA in AAA this season ... but he will always be able to say that he pitched in the bigs.
My favorite all-time opportunity to pitch in The Show was a young man named Chad Bentz. When I coached an intermediate league team (13 year olds) in Juneau, Alaska back in the 80's, he was my top draft pick. I wrote a column for the Juneau Empire back then and forecasted that he would be the first Alaskan to play in the major leagues. Like Jim Abbott, he only had one hand. As soon as he delivered a pitch, he would slip his left hand into his glove that was cradled under his right arm! (As a side note, he was rather ineffective back then because he rarely threw three strikes before tossing four balls, but he could really bring it.) He pitched ineffectively in about thirty games for Montreal before winding up his brief career with the ... drum roll ... Florida Marlins in 2005. In two innings for the Fish, he allowed 7 earned runs without recording a walk or a strikeout.
p.s. Seeing the Orioles so desperate for pitching makes me wonder if the Marlins could turn their two Futures Game boys (Nunez and Monteverde) into Cowser or Westburg.Last edited by Lee Stone; 07-01-2023, 01:05 PM.

This is just absurd at this point with the braves. It’s like they are stealing signs astros style when they play us. These aren’t normal losses, these are just complete and utter beatdowns. We’ve allowed 3 different games this year to them where they’ve hit 5 hr’s, and they look like they will make it a 4th game today
