It would be such a shame if Stallings was injured.

That being said, Puk, Scott, Nardi, and Okert are insanely valuable right now if Chapman is getting that return. It might not be a bad idea to sell Scott right now at his all time high and then target a right handed reliever with lesser assets (or trust Barnes to be good I guess?). They can buy and sell at the same time here. Puk, Nardi, and Okert is an awesome lefty bullpen with Luzardo, Garrett, and Rogers on top. Do that Candelario/Thomas/Harvey kind of deal, and a mega-Scott return would heavily deflect against moving that package and they can replace those bullpen innings. It's an interesting opportunity right now with so many teams needing relievers and something they should think about.

You know who hasn't been excellent - Archie "Smeltzer" Bradley. Rogers can't come back soon enough.

A game like this will get people talking about our run differential again when it’s really just that we’re pretty good against every team not named the Braves.
Currently at a -40 run differential against the Braves & +32 against every other team.

The Nationals will have their pick of the litter and the Marlins offer isn't going to be attractive without Cappe, Berry, or Watson in that deal at minimum. The Marlins are going to have to spend to get guys, so if that is something we just accept, it's why you go big and seek guys with service time so you don't "overpay" like the Rangers just did for a bullpen arm. It's why you go for volume (Candelario/Thomas, Goldschmidt/Edman, McMahon/Diaz/Grichuk, Westberg/Kjerstad/Basallo) as if you're going to move some of this pitching, get many guys to make it worth it.

also,
you’re a fucking dope if you think it is not only a good idea but remotely realistic that this team is trading a current mlb roster player for anything at the deadline. You’re wasting your own time and everyone else’s time with these absurd trade ideas where we get mlb players but also deal from the current roster. Just stop. They will trade some prospects for some roster help and try to win some playoff games. At what point will you stop posting the same fucking waste of time 2025 roster every day with 18 guys who won’t be in the organization at that time? You post the same nonsense daily, and that’s coming from fucking me.
that is under no circumstances Fulton and Vargas level.Last edited by fish16; 06-30-2023, 08:59 PM.

to be 20 games over .500 against every team but the braves. Just all luck

Yea non-prospects. Rangers have one of the deepest farms in baseball. This is literally Fulton (a back end SP projection) and a breakout teenager with a 1.000 OPS (Vargas). But asking you to think before you speak is pointless at this point.

They definitely are 5-6 wins lucky on some 1 run luck. This isn't rocket science.

just to be clear, Ragans was the 12th rated prospect in the rangers system last september, since he graduated from prospect status at that point, he gave up 13 ER's in 21 innings to end last september, then now has a 5.92 ERA and 1.40 WHIp as a 25 year old out of the rangers bullpen this year. So lou pretty much just bullshitted his way through the review of the return for Chapman, which was completely nothing essentially. Because, again, free agents to be very rarely get anything at the trade deadline.
The other guy they got is a 17 year old who is a nonprospect.

You posted a projection from March that had him as a 4.15 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 125 k's in 113 IPs from fangraphs. Thus far this year, in the real world, he has a 5.92 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and a 24/14 K/BB ratio in 24 innings. He;s also had 2 tommy john surgeries.
the other guy is 17. Youre gonna look really dumb when candelario gets traded for a 10-20 level prospect in a system.
You should totally post our 2025 lineup again though with Amaya, Nunez, Berry, Burdick, Groshans, and others in it again though. It's totally not a waste of everyone's time and space on this forumLast edited by fish16; 06-30-2023, 09:19 PM.

We’re probably not 2nd best team in the NL good, but games like this that make our run differential look bad again don’t really tell me anything for the rest of the season.
I could be wrong, idk.
Next 2 games should be interesting. Biggest test of Eury’s career so far tomorrow and then hopefully Sandy can carry the momentum from the Boston game and continue to get back on track. I’ll take a win in this series lol.

What on earth is the marlins and braves run differential in games between us dating back to the beginning of that Covid season? Because they have absolutely, thoroughly, kicked our ass in every aspect of pretty much every game in that time. Feels like every game has been not only a blow out, but a blow out from the first inning on
