Especially with Meyer coming up I think sunday based off how they have structured his next outing and when poteet's second time through the rotation will be, they need to take off or it will be another season around the .500 mark with no real playoff shot.

Soler for all his struggles still somehow is around .700 OPS with projections for 32 homers and 83 rbi's. If he can heat up and jazz can stay hot, with Aguilar and Garcia coming out of their slumps and Anderson being back, now is the time they need to take advantage of games with the nationals and the braves while they are still scuffling and go on a run here. Of course last time I judged their future performance based on their upcoming schedule they lost 6 straight 1 run games, so what the fuck do I know.
Ng apparently said something along the lines of not wanting to call up Meyer too early and not wanting to affect his progression through the system. Makes it sound like a pipe dream that we’ll see him anytime soon

    • So all of a sudden Max Meyer's given up 14 runs in his last two outings. So I would say chances of him getting called up are probably not great right now.

      • Also Encarnacion got called up to AAA and homered in his first game.

          • Cabrera is likely close. His last start didn't look great by the numbers, but he barely gave up any hard contact and struck out 8 in five innings.

            • I’m in Jacksonville. I thought Meyer was pitching tomorrow night.

There’s no way I would have went today anyway; the Feels Like temperature was 93 when I looked at my phone around 1PM. I love the Marlins but I don’t love them enough to bake in the stands.

Can’t wait to hear the news about his upcoming Tommy John.

mistakenly going to Jacksonville must be one of the worst experiences imaginable. Was there in early April and that city is the absolute worst. It's like the streets are having a competition to see which one can be least paved and/or pleasant to drive on. The infrastructure there was ancient.

I certainly hope they take his spring and first 6 starts of the year and don't harp on his last 2. the kid is clearly ready and the service time issues are done for the most part, plus your other options are poteet and Elieser. Call him up already and throw your best 5 guys in the rotation.

                  • Could Poteet really not give us more than 54 pitches?

                            • Padres are 10 games over with a run differential of +19. We are 2 games under with a run differential of +20. Obviously the 1 run losses, bullpens struggles in big moments, and inconsistent offense will do that to you, but annoying nonetheless.

                              • Cody Poteet was a joy to watch last night. Until the fingernail issue popped up in the fifth, he was about as efficient as a pitcher can possibly be. He could have a really good year.
