Seriously ?

And of the 6 losses, 3 of them were within one TD. If you add 1970 & 1974 together with that win total they were 64-14-2 over a 5-year period.
Some of you here may be too young to remember just how dominant the Dolphins were in the early 1970s.

No, not a miserable person, but I am most of the time when watching an incompetent fool like Mattingly fumble through lineups and games, and Ng nor Sherman does anything about it.....kinda tells you loud & clear their priority is not to win. Jeter left because he didn't see any hope that this was going to get better.
Sayonara suckers....

was out of town all week. looks like nothing has changed. Failure to spend relatively minor amounts in key areas will lead to another lost season. refusal to spend on a closer is maddening. And I hate spending money on closers, but it was a clear and obvious hole and a number of guys were available. Have no problem not dealing for reynolds as he's been pretty bad this year, but there was any number of signings/trades they could have made that would have had much bigger impacts. Stallings stinks, has graded out negatively on both sides of the ball and a glove first catcher is always annoying to me, but especially given the likelihood of an automated strike zone next year, it makes it even more annoying. Scott and Nicolas look good this year. Mitch Garver didn't take much to acquire and is the bat first catcher that would have actually made an impact.
Soler is what we knew he was and he likely will opt out if he stays healthy, but the Garcia signing really still bothers me and will till he's gone. a 1 year deal, fine, but 4 years for a guy whose track record is unbelievably inconsistent is just inexcusable.
There was a prospect trade to be made for an impact bat using our pitching depth, and we didn't pull the trigger, and they are paying the price for it.
But the biggest thing in my opinion is Mattingly. IDK what he needs to do to be let go, but enough already. At a certain point you need a change of voice. He's been here 7 years or something crazy like that, and he was a great rebuilding manager, but to take the next step we need a game manager. It's about winning games now, not just focusing on rebuilding and building better habits. He needs to go.

cabrera coming up, meyer shouldnt be far behind once he gets healthy. There is promise and I think they arent all that far away from being in the playoff discussion, but they need 2 more legitimate bats to come from somewhere before they are actual legit contenders. I'd highly consider dealing pablo for a huge package of hitters if he's healthy come July and we are completely out of it. I will never trust him to stay healthy until I see it, and id like to capitalize on the value he's built this year and last year when he was healthy.
