I'm convinced Vesia will be up pretty early this year, maybe not in the opening day roster, but it won't be long.

    • Yeah, Brinson can hit minor league pitching ... he does it every spring. But he absolutely, unequivocably, can't handle big league pitching. If he brought special defense to the OF, maybe you give him another month of at bats ... but he doesn't do that either.

I have to agree, I've said this before, best case scenario for us with Brinson now, is he continues to mash in spring, we send him to AAA he mashes in the hitter-friendly PCL and we trick some team into giving us something for him this summer.

I'd honestly prefer to do a major shake up:

-Nothing prospects for W. Myers, A. Morejon/R. Weathers, O. Miller, and at least $10-15 million
-Move Rojas, Urena, and Cooper to White Sox (all make sense for them) for Z. Collins, and 2+ FV40 prospects not close to 40 man
-DFA Wallach or Sierra, and get another backup veteran infielder for a year until hopefully Miller is ready fast (he hits lefties hard, ideal 2B/SS backup)
-Even better if you DFA both and then sign Puig

Influx of lefties and lefty killers, and you've only added around $30+ million of Myers with getting 3-5 good prospects, and 1 of them elite (the SD lefty).

I am beating a dead horse and maybe this is a deadline move, but they have some real opportunities to do some nice short and longterm things if they take on a little salary risk and move some of the MLB depth.
I agree with you about Duggar. I don't think he is any danger of losing his 40 man spot right now though. He's pitched well thus far.

I actually agree with Lee for the most part for once.

The one way I disagree, though, is I say if he rakes in Spring again, you give him one last chance on the big team. And if he utterly fails again, bye bye.

I think Villar is going to have to look completely incompetent in CF this spring for him not to be the guy out there for the 1st half of the season.

              • In a season where it would be an absolute miracle to win 85 games, you have to give Brinson close to every day playing time batting 7th for a few weeks

                • Astros playing their starters today against us. Jupiter crowd greeting them with a lot of boos.

                  • Caleb ... Yikes. 89-90 with the 4-seamer ... all above the belt ... that won't fly. He was lucky to escape.

                    • 2020 Closer Brandon Kintzler walks the bases loaded.

                      - - - - - - - - - -

Walked in a run. This looks like a quality signing. 22 pitches 6 strikes so far.

Exactly this. Why wouldn’t you give him one last shot? To give Matt kemp or Matt Joyce a roster spot on a non playoff team? For the sake of the investment he will get one last look

                          • Yimi Garcia escapes Kintzler’s mess. Perfect season still alive.

Yeah but his one last shot wouldn't be at the expense of Kemp or Joyce. It would be at the expense of playing time for Ramirez, Cooper, Villar etc. Kemp and Joyce are bench players, having Brinson on the team as a bench piece is pointless.

I’d go villar 3b/ss full time, Anderson in rf full time, Dickerson lf, cooper platoon with Aguilar at 1b with cooper playing more than him, and then brinson full time in center for at least a month. Ramirez 4th outfielder with Joyce
