The thing about Didi is will he be cool at 3B? They dont have him at top of list because they see
1B-Lewin
2B-Isan
SS-Jazz
by August or 2021. They are ALL LHB and need to play
IF they sign a Avisail Garcia and a vet LHB then BA stays at 3B. If they sign a Avisail Garcia and Didi then BA can play RF/3B and Didi can play 3B and around the IF
They don't wanna sign Didi to 3 or 4 yr deal and have him cry about 3B(Hanley) plus got Monte,Jesus,Bleday,VV,Jerar as OF options soon
Dont forget 26 guys next year on roster

NOV 20 is deadline to add Rule 5 guys. Would expect to see some moves around Nov 18-20 like last year. RP arms traded for non 40 man guys and DFA guys like Wallach/Riddle
Super 2 cutoff is 2.115. JT Riddle is at 2.118Last edited by tjfla; 11-05-2019, 10:47 AM.

tjfla, I know you keep talking about taking on money to get stuff. I know the Padres are a sore spot, but they might be looking to offload Wil Myers/his contract. He's owed $22.5M through 2022, with a $20M option/$1M buyout for 2023. And they also may have a roster crunch.

Totally worth it to get Paddack. Would be incredible. He's awesome. Who cares about Myers money. It expires in 3 years.
But I do like the idea of getting Wil Myers, $30 million from San Diego (making him 3/$30) and two FV40 prospects or better. Myers has real upside and can play LF until Bleday is ready. And dabble at 1B/CF as needed. $10 million bucks a year is fine. Maybe even a little more. Two more Will Stewart/Osiris Johnsons would be helpful. That's a good dump trade for everyone.
JOSH Reddick is another good one for Miami.

Just remember next year we will have a roster crunch so they prefer Draft Picks/IFA $ or NON 40 man prospects to OK types on 40 man. They would jump all over good 40 man guys too but prefer that stuff. They would love to add 1 or 2 draft picks to add to the draft pool $$$ BUT they dont come out until Dec/Jan so can't do those trades till then. As for IFA few guys they are waiting to sign(no big names) but also some Cubans who should be FA in next few months that they have eye on.
Marlins are happy to help ANYONE(except maybe LAD) as long as u are throwing some sweetners in the deal. NL East teams sure!! NYY sure!! If NYY need money for Cole I could see us taking on Ellsbury contract(keep him on 60 Day all year) if NYY are throwing in prospects. 2020 means NOTHING-only thing they wanna do is play the younger guys to see if they can hang or not and get pitching set for 2021Last edited by tjfla; 11-06-2019, 07:48 AM.

Ellsbury has one too but Miami would likely just tell him to sit home all year

Talking about sitting home all year. IF Miami keeps Chen don't be surprised if he is put on 60 Day DL really quick with an "arm" injury and told to sit home. He will be activated in Sept because of this
Is not on the DL at the end of 2020 and is healthy in 2021-IF he is on the DL at end of year his 2021 option vests
Miami could have 40-50 million in contracts for 2020 just sitting at home

You can't ask this fan base to just waste another season. I'm not saying that they have to compete for a wild card or anything, but they need to show they are making strides. Another 50-60 win season doesn't help, especially with the TV deal coming up and you are trying to build a sponsorship base. Building a strong farm system is great and necessary, but at some point they have to show this community that they are committed to winning in Miami. Nobody is going to take them seriously until they show they are willing to put forth some money and make the team worth watching.

All I am saying is that 2020 is last year they think they can add young guys. After this year it won't be about doing Gallen for Jazz trades OR drafting/signing 30 guys . They will know what they have and draft BPA they think can stay in system not add as much talent as possible and cross fingers
This is why they signed Mattingly instead of another guy right now. Let Don coach this year and next year(2021) he will likely be fired or reassigned to FO and replaced with Rowson,Trey Hillman,Keith Johnson or Meulens if he signs who will led the team into futureLast edited by tjfla; 11-06-2019, 10:39 AM.

1996 and 1997 are a good example. We brought in Al Leiter, Kevin Brown, and Robb Nen before the 96 season. We were still bad in 96, but we were in a better spot for the next round of call ups and FA acquisitions to allow us to make a run 1997.

By Aug 1(Maybe even earlier)
C-Alfaro
1B-Lewin
2B-Isan
SS-Jazz/Rojas(UT)
3b-BA
LF-Harold or Avisail
CF-Monte
RF-Jesus
I could see this as the lineup with rotation like this
SP-Sixto
SP-Caleb
SP-Sandy
SP-Pablo
SP-Cabrera
No clue about WAR stuff(lou does) but that team could probably win more games then this year and besides LF probably the 2021 Opening Day lineup

Probably could use another power OF bat in 2021 but Jerar and Bleday should be ready mid 2021 and if sign Roark/Pineda they could be in rotation in 2021Last edited by tjfla; 11-06-2019, 10:56 AM.
