Everyone keeps saying it, but who cares what the other teams do. Does the deal make sense for the Marlins?

This is all about developing a real franchise here with depth. If Philly or Atlanta is good in 2021, cool? Nationals will be in payroll hell, looks like the Mets will be in payroll hell, and there is a thing called the wild card.

Take the best deal period. Ties go to out of the division teams, or to the Mets/Nats over ATL/PHI as the Mets/Nats have a greater chance of imploding in the NL East.

Totally agree with u.Just saying that the Miami preference. Looks like Atlanta is putting C on the backburner right now however

I dont know for sure what SD or TB are offering but heard it is very comparable to NYM/Atl/Philly just younger guys

Thing about the Phillies is they have what the Marlins like too

Upper tier 1/2 potential SP is as good as getting longterm C or SS options.

BTW, Alfaro had a .406 BABIP last year. He's a backup longterm and they should value him as that. He's a 3rd/4th guy in a deal depending on how good the first two are.

Like said the 2 prospects are going to be pretty good. Just not sure who Miami likes because Philly has SP(Suarez/De Los Santos/Howard/Romero),SS(Gamboa,Luis Garcia,2 or 3 others),OF(Moniak,Ortiz,Haseley) shit even Alec Bohm(doubtful) to choose from

Hear #Marlins have slightly lowered return request on Realmuto since end of the season. Outside execs say they perceive Mia knows have to deal him but after getting not enough last year, esp for Yelich, gunshy to go quickly and undersell.


Don't know about since End of Season part but they have lowered it somewhat in last week and when I say lowered somewhat I mean like from going from A++ to A+. Not tons but not asking for 1st born anymore which is why was surprising that Houston pretty much passed and LAD/Col didnt jump in

#Mets remain in on Realmuto because Van Wagenen determined that his version of NYM always pursue best players. But internally still see as a long shot. Someone like Martin Maldonado remains more likely to emphasize defense.

Ya heard it LAD but Milwaukee was in on him hard. Won't give up Hiura-OF Corey Ray and SP was rumored

Both teams have tons of OF and SP so no surprise

Thats what happens when u draft talent and dont worry about $ and trade players when value is highest. Philly is in the same boat

They probably arent getting Kluber because they WON"T include Hiura. They were offering Ray,SP and another prospect or 2

Milwaukee got Isan Diaz and Brinson by trading Lecroy/Segura even tho were still useful

As much as i want the team to sign a few veteran bats and RP's i think theyd be better off seeing if the free agent market is gonna be like last year where you can get a lot of quality signings for cheap closer to spring training. Think we should be looking for 2-3 RP's, 1 decent OF, and a flier 1b guy just to give more options behind cooper/obrien.

Thats the plan. Trade JT,Straily and maybe Castro and Rule 5 Draft to fill roster than look for some cheap options for 2019 they trade at deadline

#Dodgers have glaring hole behind the plate and need a catcher. Sources believe team is taking a "JT Realmuto or bust" approach.
Meaning, if price comes down on Realmuto, he's top on list via trade. If not, FA Catchers (Maldonado, Ramos, Hundley, Lucroy)

So LAD wants JT but only if they can get him for Puig or Pederson along with #22 and #29 ranked prospects? HAHA Up the offer instead of crying about the price or see how a Lucroy/Will Smith/Barnes situation does!!

Miami has offered JT for Verdugo/SP/C and they said too much. Offered JT for Lux/SP/C/more and they said too much. Looks like LAD is trying to get JT/Kluber for next to nothing. This is why Miami hates talking with LAD-they want to offer NOTHING of value then cry about how no one will trade with them. No one wants Joc Pederson or Puig as Centerpiece with high priced arms or old prospects they want Verdugo/Lux/Ruiz/Will Smith/May/Santana

They could get Kluber and JT very easily if they made solid offers as they have enough in Majors and Farm

Ramos and Grandal have not made up mind so teams are still trying for them too
