When you see wonderful pitchers like Chris Paddack dismissed because professional scouts take them lightly, you can tend to lose faith. When undue significance is placed on FB velocity (hello, Tyler Kolek), you tend to lose faith. I prefer to bet on actual effectiveness. My bad.

Paddack was dismissed because Loria thought he knew everything and said "sure, throw him in, I want known names"
And it's well known our drafting was all hard throwers nothing else for years because of a stupid mindset.
Those moves aren't exactly prove your points.

Yes, the stupid mindset of scouts who stared at their speed guns.

Both the Paddack and Luis Castillo trades (literally trades in Castillo's case) have Loria's name all over them

BTW, this is basically the equivalent of you wanting to give the Nationals Realmuto, Brinson, and Diaz for Robles and Kieboom. It's that level bad and why Loria was terrible.

Totally Lee. Washington would TOTALLY not do that.
You are the Paddack-Rodney deal and you are Rodney here.

Lee, the point isn't the value of Diaz and Brinson. The point is, there is no reason for the Marlins to trade Brinson and Diaz, and for the NAtionals there is no reason for them to acquire Diaz and Brinson. It makes sense for neither team. That's why the idea is dumb.
