My favorite Marlins hitters thus far: Lorenzo Quintana and Willians Astudillo: combined 7-14 with 7 RBI and nary a single whiff. (Garcia has struck out five times already and Bleday 4 times in just 6 ab.)

I’m going to my first Spring Training game in 2 years tomorrow.
Soler debut and Trevor Rogers slated to start. I payed $70 in “fees” for 3 tickets (above and beyond the ticket price) . I feel like such a sucker but my sons are beyond excited to see the 2022 squad.
I’ll be dead in 35 years so fuk it let’s go watch baseball.

McCambley was better in A+ last year at 22 (strikeouts, FIP, etc.). Give him 2 full seasons and he'd blow Velez away.
Neidert was much better in A+ than Velez at 20 years old. As well as excellent in AA at 21 years old. Velez is nowhere close to Neidert historically as a prospect.
Fulton will very likely be as good or better in A+ at 20 this year after a very solid year in 2021. He has 4 seasons to catch up also so this won't be close absent Fulton blowing his arm out.
Fitterer is definitely TBD but he has 3 years to catch up. He is very young. He's in the same tier as Velez.
Poteet has a much larger sample size of good and bad, but he had good runs in A+ as a 22/23 year old and a nice AA run as a 24 year old. This may be a PUSH as prospects.
So you're definitely wrong about McCambley and Neidert, extremely likely (very) wrong on Fulton, probably wrong on Fitterer, and once we get arguing Poteet versus Velez MilB numbers, we're all in trouble.
Fulton, McCambley, and Neidert should definitely be in the Marlins top 10-20 prospects. Fitterer, Velez, and Poteet have shots 20-30 range, maybe 35 worst case scenario. If Velez plays up in the bullpen, that's going to help him dramatically become more relevant.

We optioned DLC to AAA. Also looks like Henry is going to be our backup catcher.
I’m assuming now we either carry Quinn or DeShields. No way they would be so shortsighted as to not have a natural centerfielder on the roster, right?

You're wrong about 2, going to be wrong about 2 more, and Poteet is a push.
Believe me, I really want Velez to work out and Bleier, Okert, and Velez are in the bullpen in August. But have some perspective about a 24 year old in A+ playing against 20-22 year olds.

C Stallings, Henry
1B Aguilar, Cooper
2B Jazz
SS Rojas, Berti
3B Wendle
LF Anderson
CF Sanchez, DeShields, Quinn
RF Garcia
DH Soler
They get an extra roster spot for April so DOUBLE backup CF desperation. A little surprised with DLC, but this clearly says he sucks defensively in CF and is not in any plans.
I guess maybe Astudillo beats out one of the CF just to have a never strikeout pinch hitter?
All of this seems dumb. They need to trade for a CF/RP (if Floro is hurt!).
