OPS at Comerica by year - .715, .892, .871, and .813. So he struggled a little this year, in the smallest sample size of the last 4 years.
He's fine.

He's definitely best suited for an AL club he can DH half the year though. He's not this ridiculous defensive liability either. He'd be "adequate" in RF and maybe 1B (even if still below average), and still probably get to 3 WAR seasons in his hitting prime. This is a "if the price is right" signing for me. They'd be foolish to not grab him at 4/$60 if that's the price, defense be damned. It starts getting iffy moving the number up from there.
Ozuna I see a minimum 5/$90. His BABIP is very low this year (.267) and if his defense rebounds even a little (metrics good in LF this year), monster. Huge BB rate increase this year which I love. He's the 5th best FA to me (Rendon, Cole, Strausburg who is going to opt out, Didi). He's going to get paid. I think I'd sign him for something like this, and look to move one of Bleday and Sanchez for a different need (likely CF as I have little faith in Monte) in a year once we see how everyone looks. Maybe Sanchez can play some CF and this is all moot too. Either way, he's a good backup plan to selling the house for Rendon/Cole.
Any move like this inspires confidence and I am into as long as the contract is right.

I agree with Castellanos.
I don't think Puig is a culture fit (especially if Mattingly stays), but Puig could be an enormous value if they could sign him for something like 3/$40 with a depressed MLB market for his antics. He could just click. This is a far away backup plan to me. I would pass unless its an enormous club friendly deal.

How hard is it to bat these guys with some protection? They are your longterm assets. Treat them like it.

Urena/Stanek/Quijada/Guzman/FA(Romo?) are CL options in 2020. Urena/Stanek/FA are ALL likely gone by July 31 however with idea being raise stock and hope market is crazy again. Before anyone says WHY trade these guys? We have about 10 guys in AAA/AA who they love and are already 23-25(Stevens,Aiello,CJ Carter,Eveld,Dylan Lee,Vesia,Guzman,Alex Mateo,Chad Smith)

These are Brigham's numbers over last seven appearances:
Last 7 Games 0 0 1.80 7 0 0 10.0 5 2 2 8 0.70
He tosses 97-98 and has the best breaking ball on the team to go with it. He was visibly nervous in his early (and first) major league appearances, but that seems to be over now. He's my easy choice as the closer with most potential.

If you like him best, you also DON'T want him to get saves to keep him cheaper.

I've been bad with following the team this year...
But I wanna say I think the Marlins/D-Backs pulled off the rare win-win trade. Zac Gallen looks like a lot better pitcher than even I thought he was and I was on his side at the start of the year when most weren't. Chisholm had an .877 OPS in Jax in short time for us, probably starts in AAA next season at 22 years old and is a regular major leaguer by 23-24 years old. So the D-Backs get a legit long-term mid 3 ERA starter and the Marlins get a legitimate power hitting SS who could be the first legit star SS the team has since Hanley.
I just wanted to praise the Marlins trades again at the deadline. I think both deals worked out both ways. Rays further soldified a bullpen (which could be huge come playoff time) with Anderson/Richards, and the Marlins got a guy who could be a 22 year old major league starting outfielder by next year.
I know we all want to win trades in one sided fashion but I love to see deals where both teams get what they wanted out of it.

Romo for Diaz too. Let the guy go chase a title with the Twins and we got a 1B who might be MLB ready by 2021. Good shit.

Completely agree on the gallen jazz trade. Gallen will be a good mid rotation pitcher for years but we have sp depth and jazz was worth the risk. Similar analysis for the Anderson and Richards trade. Both probably good long term relievers, but you take a long term top prospect 100/100 times, even if it doesn’t turn out well when we look back a few years from now
