But I wanna say I think the Marlins/D-Backs pulled off the rare win-win trade. Zac Gallen looks like a lot better pitcher than even I thought he was and I was on his side at the start of the year when most weren't. Chisholm had an .877 OPS in Jax in short time for us, probably starts in AAA next season at 22 years old and is a regular major leaguer by 23-24 years old. So the D-Backs get a legit long-term mid 3 ERA starter and the Marlins get a legitimate power hitting SS who could be the first legit star SS the team has since Hanley.

I just wanted to praise the Marlins trades again at the deadline. I think both deals worked out both ways. Rays further soldified a bullpen (which could be huge come playoff time) with Anderson/Richards, and the Marlins got a guy who could be a 22 year old major league starting outfielder by next year.

I know we all want to win trades in one sided fashion but I love to see deals where both teams get what they wanted out of it.

Romo for Diaz too. Let the guy go chase a title with the Twins and we got a 1B who might be MLB ready by 2021. Good shit.
    Yep Marlins will start 2020

Caleb/Sandy/Pablo/Yamamoto and either Elieser or Dugger

With Sixto/Garrett/Cabrera/Neidert ALL better than most of them and lots of depth in AAA/AA. I would sign a cheap vet and trade him at deadline(what KC did this year)

    2021 u will have

    Sixto/Caleb/Sandy/Pablo and ?

Expect them to try to trade Urena/Stanek/Brice/Conley especially if the market is as crazy as this year. Caleb could be moved as well if they get the package they want. ALOT of pitching decisions need to be made before Trade deadline next year!! Oakland is gonna be the team to watch on Urena and Brice. They have players we/Denbo likes while Stanek prolly is CL till deadline

ALL 3 of Jazz/Jesus/Lewin have to be on 40 Man in 2020 so they will all be up in 2021. 1 thing to watch like lou has mentioned few times is 2021 40 man crunch.

Said a few times but the draft is gonna be interesting. #3 Pick in a College SP heavy draft-we could get another SP to put with Garrett/Rogers(age wise) OR grab Austin Martin who could play 2B/SS/3B(Trea Turner like)

    • Some thinking Castellanos might get around JD money - that’s 5/$100-110, and maybe a 6th year. https://670thescore.radio.com/cubs-n...lb-free-agency

Suffice to say, I’m out if that’s where he lands. I think this news report is a little exaggerated given a smaller Cubs sample size burst though. He’s really good and is going to hit for the life of those years, but without a guaranteed NL DH, I would hold at 5 years and probably $80-85 million as a max deal.

      • Rojas re-signed for 2 years and an option for a 3rd

that's a good deal for us. I like the role he's played for the Marlins. How much is it for ?

Nothing announced yet but anything under 3/30 is a great deal. Can play 1B,2B,SS,3B wants to be here and is fine being the UT guy. Remember Lewin,Isan,Jazz are LHB

            • 3/30 would be a fairly substantial overpay. He’s a great clubhouse guy and a great fielder with a limited bat. Anything more
Than say 6-8 million a year would be an overpay, not that it matters given our salary situation the next few years

U don't pay more than 3/40 or 45 for him. If he wants 5/100+ u say no thanks and call Puig. We need a power bat but few options out there

Said anything UNDER I would say 6-7 million a year is what they probably gave him but I could see them paying him more.

It’s a rumor that sounds like it’ll be official any second now. It’s up on MLB Trade Rumors.

So would I!! 3/18-20 is what I would give him but again if its up to 3/30 its still a great deal if he still hits. The thing on Rojas is he can play 4 spots at a +++ level. John McDonald played 9 extra years at like 2-3 million a season just cause his defense

If Lewin,Isan,Jazz struggle u have a vet backup who is fine with it.

Made 3.1 this year and had 1 more year of arb left

                        • I think Rojas is pretty average but a great locker room guy, but a two year deal with an option for a third is perfect for us. He will start next year, then you have the year after where maybe jazz still isn’t ready and you can have him start 2021 for a few months, then you have him as a utility guy the rest of that hear, with the option at our disposal to determine whether we want to keep him the additional year in 2022 as a super utility guy again. If the price is right I’d love the deal, and honesty, even if the price isn’t right, we have such low salary obligations moving forward that little differences aren’t a killer regardless

                          • According to Barry Jackson, the 2 guaranteed years are in the $10 million rage total. Seems like a solid deal for Rojas.

Yep, it’s a fair deal given what his arbitration tender would be. The third year option is a bonus just in case his defensively wizardry continues

Anderson next. 5/$35 with a 6th year club option

They are pretty much done internally after that. Maybe Alfaro if it’s a ridiculously low buy low, like 5/$18.

.732 OPS from the SS position, great defender and the epitome of a team player. Love the move, Jeets.
