Well, Milwaukee only needed to see 55 plate appearances from Brinson in 2017 to decide he couldn't swim. His debut was scarily similar to what Diaz has shown.

You've left Jon Berti out of your discussion. I consider him to be "the find" of the year (along with former Marlin Nick Anderson). Leads the active roster in OBP and tied for OPS lead with Garrett Cooper. And his speed/versatility is a huge asset. A lineup of eight Jon Bertis would be a joy to watch.

No I didn't, but he's having a good year. It would be great if he is the new Rojas and is a positive bench contributor for 4 years.

Rojas is a decent stop gap, but put your young players in a position to succeed in a september where the games are completely meaningless and even losing is somewhat of a positive for the team in september

good on the marlins btw for trying to help get involved in the bahamas, especially with jazz and others being from there. Much bigger than baseball. Need to get more of these community projects to get involved in building good will in the community and obviously helping the awful situation there. We were incredibly lucky here, that monster was both nowhere close to making an impact here and way too close to devastating this entire region that could not handle anywhere close to a storm of that magnitude.

So Castro is awesome and they have an (expensive) team option next year.

It’s doubtful they pick it up, but he’s kind of perfect to keep for next year given Isan isn’t established and Anderson can play in the OF a bit. Maybe you pick it up and aim to really move him at the deadline. If he hits like this now, he’s a star.

This one is interesting. They have plenty of payroll. If they did pick him up, and keep Rojas, Urena, and Conley, this costs around $55 million:

That’s not a bad looking team and it’s under $80 million. Just saying.
