I could see relievers and Castro getting traded...and I can see opening up an OF spot by dealing Dietrich, but I don't think there is any need to have a full roster overhaul before the deadline. You still have a season to play and how often do you see a team trade everyone all at once at the deadline? Obviously if someone blows you away, then they should trade any of those guys without thinking twice, but the return for Straily, Urena, Bour, and Realmuto may be better in the offseason anyway. And is it worth leaving young guys like Brinson and Anderson without any veteran presence in the clubhouse? I don't see how that would be helpful to building the culture they like to talk about.

    • Just saying Denbo would like to have an idea of 2020 sooner rather than later. Ya having Bour/Straily around is nice but ultimately the FO would prefer to know what they have going foward.

Bearclaw,JT and Urena are the ones who need to get blown away offers. The rest should be decent offers

No offense, but it's ridiculous that you were thinking this. Based on what?

Ya and that was a fucking stupid thing to say from the moment it came out of your mouth. As I said 2 months ago

            • Let’s BURY the guy after he came in and admitted he was dead wrong.

              Excellent tactic.

Marlins: still last in the NL in Run Differential (by 39 runs).

              • Predicting a baseball team would have a starters ERA of 7 over a full season is pretty absurd is what I meant.

Also, this team isn’t much worse, if any worse at all, than their current pace. A case can be made that they’re better if Brinson figures out the art of hitting a baseball (which, from the looks of it, there are encouraging signs this month).

Marlins luck I guess. I'm so conditioned into thinking we'll have the worst luck, the worst FA signings and the worst drafts that it's just always negative. Only 6 winning seasons in 25, conditions you to think that way. It's why I remain negative on this rebuild....I just won't believe its going the right way until I see on the field results of it.

I don't see how anyone can blame Marlins fans for feeling this way.

its almost as if your cynicism blocked any rational thought process for months. Kind of exactly what I was arguing

                    • Kind of interesting how the lineup has worked in Baltimore. When Rojas got hurt, I thought Anderson would go back to third and Maybin/Shuck would man the OF in his spot. But instead Rivera has been at third both games. Maybe they don't want to toggle Anderson between right and third? Regardless I thought they might prefer the (admittedly minor) offensive upgrade that Maybin/Shuck would bring over Rivera in the lineup.

Also, DHs - it's been Bour all three days. With the constant defensive switches late in games, it's clear the staff doesn't believe Bour is a strong fielder. But I thought they'd DH Realmuto at least once, especially without having a day off on Monday. They gave him a break at catcher today, but he is playing first.

Bour played 1B yesterday with Dietrich at DH.

Thanks, though I don’t think it changes the larger point/idea I was trying to make.

Now Shuck comes in to play right and Anderson goes to third for the last inning. So I don’t know.

I think thIS laid out the cards on who was the real culprit in our exchanges....clear to see who is the socially immature one. Thanks Fish16. Suggestion : GROW UP

Don't want to cherry pick, but Tazawa, Cloyd, and Turner account for 47 runs in 32 innings or so.

I feel if there was ever a moment to throw something out, it is that hot garbage of innings that should have never happened.

I agree with you. It makes no sense to not "set him and forget him" at 3B. Clearly he is a longterm piece somewhere, and that seems like a position with less organizational depth than OF. Brinson/Monte/Sierra/Miller/Scott versus Nelson/Dunand, who are years away and not as highly regarded as the first 4? Maybe they are expecting to sign Machado for 3B (JOKES!).

Also worth noting is that they lost 3 games 20-1, 12-1, and 14-2...that will skew the run differential pretty significantly.
