This is an enjoy some hits while it lasts analysis for him. It is nice they are getting lucky and he is "hot" bridging well to the injured guys, but that's it.
Now do dlc’s savant page that shows all he brings to the table is hard contact. He has awful k%, bb%, and chase rate and is a terrible fielder, which is why the huge breakout you constantly tout won’t ever happen. None of his advanced stats or batted ball numbers have changed from last year. This isn’t a breakout. He will be back around that same .750 ops level by the end of the year

A solid hitting maybe 3rd outfielder who brings nothing else to the table. I hope he keeps it up. But likely he finishes around where he always does, around the .750 mark with great hit streaks. He brings nothing else to the table, so when that bat isn’t hot, he’s useless. It’s why every projection system still has him at around 1.5 war for the entire year despite being a really solid hitter to date due to the recent hot streak. If he was more consistent or brought more to the table it would be more playable. He’s been great lately though with the bat which is awesome
Sincerely sorry for your loss. Surely you’re aware I had no way of knowing that.

Garrett has shown some upside but he's not going to fetch a blue chipper in return at this point. Cappe has taken a huge dive in the last month. The system is so weak that we picked up a no name, middle age CF to hold down the fort. (I do like Davis, by the way).

The best idea I can come up with is to deal Soler while he's hot to the offense starved Yankees for SS prospect Oswald Peraza, who is smoking in AAA. Such a deal would require some promising pitching too, a Braxton Garrett at the least.

Despite Alcantara's rough start, I still see a window to trade him to Baltimore for a couple major improvements to the everyday lineup.

WTH isn't X Edwards starting every day somewhere on the field? If you are going to sit him for the likes of Wendle, Hampson, and Segura, he might as well be back in Jacksonville. (On that note, the team must have been very unhappy with Edwards play in CF, because he figures to hit just as well as Davis.)
We didn’t have a CF before the last two off seasons, so not sure if your point here is that valid lol

                    • Well, Jesus Sanchez homered at AAA in his first at bat tonite. He's due back to the Marlins on Tuesday I believe.

6 years of Peraza for 3+ years of Luzardo is an interesting trade idea for sure, but I feel the Marlins would need a second good player for the whole he is MLB proven. Luzardo is around a 4 WAR his last 200 innings. Peraza turning into a 4 WAR guy would be pretty amazing. Luzardo is very good and I think we'd all agree, he hasn't quite put it all together yet. For me I'd need more. Especially because Luzardo is a good buyout candidate on a deal cheaper than what Pablo got, so a team could get more value out of him.

                        • If one of Eder/Sixto were MLB ready, I could do Luzardo for Peraza + a lottery ticket.

I guess maybe the one silver lining with that is that when Eury will be wearing down at the end of the year Eder should be fresh and ready to take over.
