Of course they have prospects that would be in demand. I don’t know who specifically they’d be reluctant to include, but my guess would be they were open to trading some, but not selling the farm, which they’d have to do to get a good player. But plenty of good players have gone for packages comparable to what Miami could offer in just prospects alone. If you then start talking about guys in the majors already, that expands your options.

Those are the same 2 names I brought up weeks ago and they make the most sense. Both have great track records and insignificant long term money. It’s about a change of scenery to get their year going. Both would be monumental upgrades on all 3 of the guys you mentioned

        • If soler keeps this up they can get a real nice prospect for him

One could easily argue that Alcantara, Cabrera, Luzardo, and Rogers have all seen their value dip this season. Garrett has shown some upside but he's not going to fetch a blue chipper in return at this point. Cappe has taken a huge dive in the last month. The system is so weak that we picked up a no name, middle age CF to hold down the fort. (I do like Davis, by the way).

The best idea I can come up with is to deal Soler while he's hot to the offense starved Yankees for SS prospect Oswald Peraza, who is smoking in AAA. Such a deal would require some promising pitching too, a Braxton Garrett at the least.

Despite Alcantara's rough start, I still see a window to trade him to Baltimore for a couple major improvements to the everyday lineup.

WTH isn't X Edwards starting every day somewhere on the field? If you are going to sit him for the likes of Wendle, Hampson, and Segura, he might as well be back in Jacksonville. (On that note, the team must have been very unhappy with Edwards play in CF, because he figures to hit just as well as Davis.)

Sandy’s FIP is 3.81 despite his manager leaving him on the mound too long every other start. He’ll be fine.

They also shouldn’t be pinch hitting Garrett hampson for him when he does start unless I missed an injury

                  • Do guerriel’s stats not count in Anaheim either since it’s somewhat close to Denver? Because he’s pretty damn close to what he was in his good years so far. Close to a full Jacob stallings ops between him and andrus

                      Correct.

It’s kinda like DLC’s .817 OPS not counting because he’s a streaky hitter. Same logic.

Gurriel sucks and the bottom is going to drop out unless the of course amazing contact rates he has produced so far just pepper a high BABIP single spray everywhere. That's a hard bet. - https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savan...-r-hitting-mlb

Notice the immense difference expected slugging here for a comparable contact hitter. Night and day. - https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savan...-r-hitting-mlb

This is an enjoy some hits while it lasts analysis for him. It is nice they are getting lucky and he is "hot" bridging well to the injured guys, but that's it.

Sandy and Rogers are probably the same and Cabrera and Luzardo (showing health and upside) are probably up. Guys value don't really change much in 8 game start samples absolutely something nuts.

If they fall out, turning an out of this world Soler into Peraza would absolutely be a best case scenario. We can dream.

I was just having fun with fish16’s obsession (currently hibernating) with how bad DLC is.

                            • Trade thought. Was reading through some trade proposals on that site. The most interesting thing I saw was a straight-up Peraza for Luzardo deal with Yanks. Each side of the deal had an equal number of likes/dislikes, which is very rare!

My obsession is currently hibernating because I had a bad death in my family and haven’t watched a game in weeks dickhead. He is what he is. A solid hitting maybe 3rd outfielder who brings nothing else to the table. I hope he keeps it up. But likely he finishes around where he always does, around the .750 mark with great hit streaks. He brings nothing else to the table, so when that bat isn’t hot, he’s useless. It’s why every projection system still has him at around 1.5 war for the entire year despite being a really solid hitter to date due to the recent hot streak. If he was more consistent or brought more to the table it would be more playable. He’s been great lately though with the bat which is awesome
