i checked the stats and our offense was worse than i remembered. It seemed like that small sample size season we were fairly decent offensively. Rojas had a great 2 months, anderson hit the shit out of the ball, dickerson was steady but nothing special, aguilar was good, berti was good, and marte was brought in mid way through that year. The overall numbers were bad compared to the rest of the league though.
But no, that team doesnt make the playoffs without sixto. He was tremendous. That was my favorite year watching this team since 03. The 60 game sprint made every game a ton of fun.
Yeah, I do remember that year we always seemed to feel like we had a chance, even if we were down a few runs. It's been the complete opposite since then.

Hopefully this year will be a bit better.
Maybe that’s what I remember. That team I guess couldn’t hit but in that small sample had a lot of high leverage good moments. Martes first hit won a game for us against Toronto at home from what I recall. That was a fun few months in an otherwise awful year on earth
Must be nice to draft/develop well AND spend money on top of that.
it's not only that they spend a decent amount of money, but they sign their guys super early like we should be doing and it allowed them to build this ridiculous team of great young talent. They are only 8th in payroll, but they signed Acuna and Albies to these ridiculously cheap contracts. Albies in particular should fire his agent. He signed 7 for 35, and it has options for 2 more years at 7 million each. Granted, he will hit free agency again at 30 and get a mega deal, but he signed an awful contract. He is somehow still just 26 which blew my mind. feels like he's been around for 10 years.

You know I hate pretty much everything about what the organization has done, but the one guy we should've signed super early, they did in Sandy. We should be working on Luzardo right at this moment, but I'm not going to blame them that it hasn't happened just yet. Jazz, I still feel leery. Cabrera, it's still probably a little early. Who else is there?
