luzardo is quickly becoming ace territory. He is absolutely filthy. He needs to take that next step and start being more efficient with the pitch count and getting deeper into games to go from quality #2 to #1 level guy. They need to sign him to an extension.

7 k's through 4, just 47 pitches. Im super interested to see his next few innings. I want to see him get through 7. All of a sudden the pitching looks much more encouraging than that first turn through. that mets lineup is fucking great at working counts and there are first game jitters, so i expect to see more of this moving forward.

They should sign him though, and Arraez. Maybe they should wait on Jazz if he is really going to always be hurt.

(He'll probably give up 5 runs this inning, now that I'm saying this)

It's semantics to an extent, but I think Luzardo is a good # 3 right now with potential to firmly entrench himself into that # 2 category. He needs to throw 180+ innings consistent to get to ace territory. It's like Rogers, you need to show it again.
But boy is this a good start today so far. Oakland fans are going to be devastated when they see Luzardo and Puk toss 200+ insane innings this year.
