DLC should be 7th or later in an actual contender's lineup. He's just not very good. dudes on pace for less than 1 WAR over a full season. There is no breakout. As i said throughout the offseason. He is a 4th OF. His baseball savant is not impressive. He has horrendous plate discipline. He is one of the worse outfielders in baseball. He has proven time and time again that he is a terrible base runner. The biggest position of need at this point other than catcher is a corner outfielder. He is just mediocre as all hell. Jesus Sanchez is who we thought DLC is. And even Sanchez has bad platoon splits. We need a corner OF more than anything other than SS or C where a guy like Yan gomes will do. Segura should bounce back at 3b. We cant keep up this charade that DLC is good. The entire thing with him was that he hit the ball crazy hard (while ignoring that he has just the worst fucking plate discipline). He isnt hitting it as hard, and the plate discipline is just as bad, and the fielding and base running are even worse. He is not a good starting baseball player on a contending team.
Im guessing swing changes take a year to really come into full effect right?
We also need a full lefty masher at SS instead of wasting a spot on gurriel on the bench. may i suggest Elvis Andrus and his .542 OPS and .459 OPS vs lefties?
