A few teams are in on our arms. Minnesota/LAA are hot after our guys
Trade 1 to LAA and 1 to Minnesota then sign a vet to eat innings!!

Color me skeptical. C Smith, Lopez, Yamamoto, Dugger, Urena were all belted around in August/Sept last season. Nobody is hot for those arms unless they are offering nothing of value in return.

rosario/smith deal really makes no sense to me. I dont think it will end up being a thing regardles cause it looks like we will sign puig, but even the discussions dont really make sense. Smith has 4 years left and rosario has two. This whole rumor never made much sense.
Give me Puig, Cishek, and 1 more swing on a reliever the analytics guys like and then see if we can get a cheap SP and then roll into next year with a bad team to start the year and then hopefully several prospects being called up towards june/july and hope to build some momentum for 2021 as a first possible year contending for a wild card.

i just hope the puig thing puts an end to any rosario deal. I think id want smith to be dealt closer to the deadline if we trade him. That will give him time to rebuild his value back up a little if he can stay healthy. We're in the weird position where we have a lot of SP prospect depth close to the bigs but we still need to add 1 SP i think. Sandy, Lopez, Smith, Urena, Yamamoto is decent enough when healthy but lopez and smith havent shown they can stay healthy, urena missed most of last year, and yamamoto had pretty good peripherals but is still unproven. This year for him will be super important to show that he is more of a 3/4 than a #5. He reminds me a little of trevor richards in that sense though he is a few years younger.
And Sixto, Cabrera, and Neidert could be ready at some point in the year but who knows. I suppose as it stands neidert will be the first option if we need a starter unless we sign a guy.

Have they said anything about where anderson and Villar will play?

Which makes me think, they should target Buxton or Kepler instead and go SUPER BIIIIIIG. Both play above average defense in CF (the real need), controlled for 3 and 5 years respectively. Buxton is right handed (something I obviously want another one of in the organization) and Kepler is just awesome and they could move one of the minor league lefty OF for him eliminating that redundancy.
You can think of a lot of trade permutations, but I think you could offer them something like:
Caleb
Bleday/Sanchez/Misner/Scott
Urena/Yamamoto/Hernandez/Dugger
Cooper/Aguilar
Any reliever - Stanek, Brigham, Guzman, Rogers, Vesia, etc. (depending on who above)
And it'll be really hard for them to turn that down. THAT makes a lot of sense to me both ways.
Minnesota gets 3 more cheap pitchers for years of control right now, and if you throw in Cooper/Aguilar, they get set up with a 1B/RF platoon of Marwin, Cave, Astudillo, and Cooper/Aguilar which is pretty solid with what else they have. Likewise, the minor league OF the Marlins are sending above is no chump.
That makes a ton of sense to me, and that also opens up payroll for Minnesota right now to sign someone else this offseason anywhere on their team.
Just saying. I like Cave in a small move, or Kepler/Buxton in an epic one.

Im also super interested to see what they do with certain guys in the outfield. If we sign puig and then if one of villar or anderson will take another corner outfield spot and there are a lot of options. Brinson and sierra as young/prospect type guys, Dean and Ramirez as likely 4th outfielders, and then a wild card in Berti who looked good but he's an older dude and he's likely headed for at least a little regression.
I'd try to start with a Brinson/Sierra pure platoon with Ramirez as the 5th outfielder and then maybe carry berti as a backup infielder who can spell diaz, rojas, and whoever plays 3rd.
I'd love buxton, he's had issues staying healthy but he is just waiting to breakout with an enormous year.

@Feinsand
According to sources, the White Sox remain engaged with the RF market despite this month's trade for Nomar Mazara. Yasiel Puig appears to be a primary target.
