  • It'll be interesting to see what the Jupiter OF looks like in 2020. They have Bleday, Scott, Misner, Burdick and Thomas Jones and the destination that makes the most sense for all 5 of these guys seems to be Jupiter. I suspect, because there is a logjam that they may get aggressive with Bleday and start him in AA. So that leaves 4 guys and I guess they'll utilize the DH to make it work, I'm interested to see who mans CF if both Scott and Misner are on the team.

    • 2 years 20 million for Garcia from the brewers. Good luck getting any kind of value out of that contract

        Logjam? Have u seen Clinton

        LF-Bradshaw/Johnston
CF-Orr/Milton Smith/1 of Osiris or Dalvy
        RF-Lorenzo Hampton/Guaimaro

Lebron,Mesa Jr,Tevin Mitchell all should be in Low A so who knows. Mitchell probably is UT guy for team

U actually have 6 in Jupiter

        LF-Scott/Jones
        CF-Misner
        RF-Bleday/Burdick/Tristan Pompey

Could be easy to get AB's with DH and 1B open

Jax right now(depends on MilB signings for AAA)

        LF-Brian Miller/Stone Garrett
        CF-VV/Bird
        RF-Jerar

        - - - - - - - - - -

No point in guessing rosters with Denbo however. The guy is aggressive as hell-if u are old enough for a level he has no issue throwing u to the wolves(which I love!!!). Under Jeff they would hold guys back and sign 27 yr olds for A Ball.

        • Mish updated his percentages.

          Calhoun 30%
          Puig 25%
          Dickerson 25%
          Mystery Outfielder 20%

I'm not sure if the mystery outfielder is someone specific, or just any name we haven't heard about yet, but based on his next tweet, it sounds like it could be a specific player.

Marlins were in on Garcia but he was on the high end of what they were looking at. Mystery OF is definitely in play from what I am gathering. % has been adjusted.

Without knowing who the mystery player is, Puig is by far my first choice out of those names, with Dickerson as my second choice.

Issue with ALL 3 names is they want to play for a contender. Around 2/15 is what Miami wants to spend(prefer 1 yr plus option)

Mystery guy could be Steven Souza or Alex Gordon. Have heard us looking at both-Souza more likely

            - - - - - - - - - -

Miami and Minnesota still talking by way

Minnesota wants our pitching BAD(especially if they keep missing out on arms)

            Like Caleb,Elieser,Urena,Brice,Conley

            Miami likes Cave,Rosario,Nick Gordon,Alcala,others

TONS of options left for OF tho. Dickerson,Calhoun,Puig,Souza,Cave,Rosario,Myers,Pe ralta,Haniger

              Souza or Gordon? No thanks.

Is Souza even going to get a MLB deal? He hasn't had a healthy season since 2017. Gordon would be a very Neil Walker-like signing. Don't see either making a difference. If those are the options, I'd rather stick with the Cooper/Ramirez in the OF. Either sign a true impact bat (Puig, Dickerson...to a lesser extent Calhoun) or don't. No need to bring in another Granderson.

Joe Smith re-signed with Houston for 2/$8 million.

Still no news on Romo, but I think he makes the most sense for the Marlins.

Ok, but if Davis Bradshaw or Milton Smith lose playing time I don't think many in the FO will lose sleep. None of those guys are top 30 prospects outside of Osiris. The guys slated for Jupiter, I would say they all are. I'm thinking Brian Miller's in AAA, and AA is LF - Jerar, CF - VVM, RF - Bleday, 1B - Pompey. It'll be interesting to see how aggressive they get with Victor Mesa Jr.

                • Romo back to Twins on a 1 year deal with an option. Oh well..

Where do the Marlins turn now for a late inning reliever? Cishek, Stammen, Clippard, Hudson? Have to figure someone will want a chance to be a closer for at least half a season...

                  • I’d be all over clippard and cishek. Both have been fairly consistently good throughout their career

                    • If they are going to sign a reliever, it should be a lefty. They just brought in two right handers and have plenty more, with reinforcements.

Stanek, Steckenrider, Yimi, Sharp, Brice (AAA-Brigham, Hernandez, Dugger; post super 2 - Guzman, Cabrera, Sixto*)
                      Garcia, Conley, Quijada

Honestly, they should move Brice and let the other three battle. They have too many right handers.

Gio Gonzalez might make sense. He's from Miami and could be a pretty perfect "bulk" reliever if he is willing to accept that. Let someone else throw the 1st, and then he gets the next 18 batters. De facto 5th SP. Then, you can move Yamamoto back to AAA and call up two Brigham and Hernandez/Dugger.

*Yes I know those guys are starters but they may throw bullpen innings this year in Aug/Sep.

                      • Betances is seeking 1 year in the $10 million range supposedly. Why are we not involved in the rumors?

Two reasons- the only reason to sign him to a deal like that would be to trade him, which I’m not sure whether I’d be down to spend 10 million on a trade deadline chip, and he also wants to play for a contender in all likelihood. Why would sugn here for 1 year and ten million knowing we’re only signing him to trade him to somewhere he didn’t sign in July

He’d easily be the closer here. There’s been question marks in NY regarding his ability to close. If he could rack up some saves here, it would only up his value in free agency next year which I’m guessing is why he wants the 1-year deal.

He’d be a closer in a lot of places where he could also contend or have it be at least plausible that the team would contend

We will be getting cheap relievers, not guys like betances

                                You're paying $10 million for 60 innings?

                                No thanks

They could have gotten Wade Miley for 2/$14. They need to do something like that with a lefty.
