The offense is the other two spots. Lee's idea for Brad Miller as the 1B/3B/LF type lefty bat on a 1 year deal is a good one. He can't probably find a better playing time situation, and if he's good, the Marlins are obviously going to move him quickly in July to a contender which is also good for Brad. In addition to this, I think they should be offering guys like Bour and Chisenhall MiLB deals as backup plays to Miller to "get to Lewin."
And the other spot is Castellanos/Ozuna, or if they are cheap bastards, Avisail.
This is a big offensive upgrade to me and doesn't clog the pipes as they can ditch say, Miller, Brinson, and H. Ramirez/Sierra in July and add Lewin, Monte, and Sanchez.

Tonight at 8pm is the non-tender deadline and next week is the start of the Winter Meetings. Also, Villar is on waivers until 1pm today so it'll be interesting to see if he clears.
It would be nice to see some Marlins-related activity soon.

Alot of guys are gonna come on the market over next week or so. Oakland gonna non tender Profar,Treinen,Phegley and we are liking ALL 3 of them
They have tons of cash to burn so I wish they would just trade for these guys and just pay up. Trade a Sean Reynolds or some low level guy and get them before they hit FA. I would jump all over Villar but wouldn't be surprised if they passed too. Yolmer Sanchez is high on list too-better defense then Miggy bat is ok
One issue Miami is having in trade talks is teams want us to overpay!! They are calling teams asking on players and getting requests like Palacios,Jerar for crappy DFA guys. They called 1 team and offered Davis Bradshaw or Milton Smith like OF team said NO and asked for Jerar HAHAHAH
We have at least 5 spots OPEN-Moran,Keller,Kinley,Tayron,Riddle
Could open 2 more easy-Wallach,Austin Dean
If Needed trade 3-Urena,Brice,Conley
10 total spots IF NEEDED

Non tender Riddle and claim Villar? Too much sense HAHA I hope Miami put a claim in for him-pay him 10 million and dont worry about it
Conley and Riddle are in danger of being non tendered but prolly just Riddle as Conley has some value

First Marlins move of the winter!
Jesus Aguliar claimed. Hit 35 homers and was an all star 2 years ago. Still has 3 years of control. Not a bad low risk addition. He can potentially play 1st until Lewin is ready.
We will have to make an additional move. Can't be good news for Riddle's time on the 40 man.

First baseman Jesús Aguilar has been claimed by the Miami Marlins, sources tell ESPN. Aguilar was designated for assignment earlier this week by Tampa Bay. There's a clear path to the first-base job for him.

It's interesting every AL team passed on him on waivers as he seems like a good DH, but this is a good gamble.
