    And........drum roll please........

If my aunt had balls she would be my uncle.

    • Ya dude, if your aunt has balls for a 2 week stretch in May she’d be technically your uncle for those two weeks, but the more appropriate title given the vast sample size of her lack of balls would be that she generally is who she always was, which would be your aunt, which nobody is probably all that eager to be

      • Yeah man just keep doing the thing where you eliminate players AB’s to fit your narrative regardless of how fucking ridiculous it makes you sound. Carry on.

im not doing anything to have it fit my narrative. Im getting rid of 2 games of extreme outliers to give a better idea of what a player actually is/was and give a better idea of why he only got an invite to spring training on a minor league deal despite playing his home games in the most hitter friendly ballpark in baseball. Give my best to your balls riddled aunt though.

          • i dont love miguel rojas as a guy to give a multi year deal to but his leadership is truly phenomenal for this young team. great video tonight posted on twitter of him talking to the prospects during the captains camp thing.

              Some takes on young SP.

              TLDR crowd:

Sixto and Sandy have front end potential
              Cabrera and Garrett mid-rotation potential
Guzman(!) back of the rotation SP(!)
Needs to see more of healthy Pablo and Caleb to place them, but looked good pre-injuries

Neidert and Hernandez are replacement 6/7 SP
              Yamamoto not so much....

Rogers and Holloway will probably be relievers

              So that's fun.

              • I strongly disagree on Neidert. Under rating Cabrera a little and a little too high on Sandy. I like Sandy as a future rotation piece. I think he'll continue to improve, but he's a long way from being a top of the rotation guy.

Just give me four guys who are (or strongly project to be) # 3 SP or better by Aug 1, 2021. I care not which four, but I think I agree with the article the best case scenario is probably Sixto, Sandy, Cabrera, and Garret.

We also got further verification Villar is shlepping his ass to CF - https://twitter.com/CraigMish/status/1227662999323803650

That would be so awesome if he can do it

He has played all 3 OF spots and played CF at NOLA but at 6'3 230(likely 245) he is a RF. He isn't gonna win any GG but not bad in the field either

Yep Guzman turned ALOT of heads LY. If he shows the same the 1st half of the year I would be a believer in him as a SP. Same with Rogers. The thing with Guzman and Rogers is we have so many SP that it might be best to put them in the pen and just be dominant

Jordan/Elieser/Duggar are all LR types with Jordan a RP long term

The funny thing is a healthy Neidert is probably the 2nd best pitching prospect RIGHT NOW. Cabrera/Garrett/Sixto are all better long term but I could see Neidert as a #5 innings eater like a Woody Williams who sticks for a long time

Should be more coming as guys are signing fast now but right now we got

Venditte/Ryan Cook/Boxberger/Northcraft as Milb guys and if any of them show something they can get added VERY easy by 60 Day Sharp with a fake injury

We have offers out to few more arms and some bats but much like Phelps and Lee's fave player they are holding out for ML deals and getting them

Thats how Miami see it in July 2021-rotation of Sixto/Sandy/Cabrera/Braxton and #5 whoever sticks(Pablo? Neidert? Mejia? Vet?). I just hope they don't try sticking Guzman or Rogers in the rotation for the hell of it-if the rotation is full send them both to the pen don't play games by sending them to AAA to stretch out or anything. Keep the best arms in the ML

                      • Boxburger could be interesting. He's had some big years but has really fallen off lately. His fastball velocity has dropped over the years, which isn't a great sign. But he's still only 32 and relief pitchers are weird, so maybe there is still something there.

                        • Fun with numbers. Look at the 2020 projections for Villar and Berti on Baseball Reference (or wherever). Pro rate Berti's numbers for the 600 ab that Villar is slated to get, and they are pretty much the same guy. They even play the same basket of positions. I hope Berti is an everyday player and keeps inspiring his teammates. Add Eddy Alvarez to the mix (same age and hustle as Berti and Villar), and you might have triplets.

I'll take the under on Berti and Alvarez's MLB career versus Villar's 2019.

Currently, that is a 4 WAR for Villar and 1.8 for Berti/Alvarez

                            • Berti has steep regression written all over him

                              • I'll take the under on Villar's own performance in 2020 vs 2019 ... but will likely be satisfied nonetheless.
