  • Also, how the fuck didn’t they move Aguilar or Okurt? Pop and Bass being the only moves is another signal that Ng has trouble getting deals across the line.

They have no hitting. They will not spend money. His value will never be higher. He’s a shoulder injury waiting to happen. There is everything wrong with keeping Pablo. If he’s on this team come opening day it’s mismanagement of the highest order

Eh, obviously it depends on the trades that were offered, but just based on the deals for pitchers that were made. Unless they plan on solving all their offensive woes through Free Agency. (and lol to that) I would say keeping Pablo is a mistake.

        • Mish says a second deal was “pretty close”. So frustrating that this has become a pattern.

          • Pablo is controlled 2 years. If the deals offered sucked it’s a pass. Mahle deal was bad and we would be mad. This isn’t the end of the off-season and spring training tomorrow my dudes

aguilar sucks and will be on waivers

Im surprised they didn’t get a bite on Floro/Okert, Cooper, and maybe some deal for Berti/Wendle/rojas. But it’s fine. Everyone has CONTROL

Based on Berrios and Castillo deals you are wrong about value also. Pablo’s value is fine and going to hold. Top end pitching is always desirable.

              • Or he gets hurt this time of year like he always does and his value is nothing and you have an owner who doesn’t spend money in free agency

This team is a joke for a lot of reasons, but I’m not sure keeping a good pitcher with 2 years of control left is one of them.

I wonder what they were being offered for Scott/Okert though. Have to imagine those guys had some value, and I feel like at least one of them should’ve been moved just like they moved Bass. Relievers/left-handed relievers usually have value at the trade deadline.

And fat clown Aguilar better not take playing time away from Lewin these next two months.

                  • When we made that Jazz-Gallen trade it really felt like it was the start of something. Using that pitching capital to build an offense. 3 years later, and we haven't seen another deal like that. This Front Office has no sense of urgency despite the fact we're 5 years into this disastrous ownership regime.

If the offers sucked, then yes. Hopefully we’ll get some insight into what was offered. I still feel it’s more likely than not that his value will never be this high again, but we’ll see. Best case scenario is he continues to stay healthy this year and pitches well, and they move him for value in the offseason.

                        Every player can get hurt

what if Cabrera looks good and they 1-1 Jazz him somewhere and keep Pablo this offseason

The same thing has then just happened. Pitching for a bat, and the Marlins kept the better pitcher in his prime gunning for a huge FA deal

                        perspective

or Cabrera gets hurt again and you REALLY need Pablo

                        perspective

And that was Denbo and mike hill. I had high hopes for ng but two years in I don’t know how anyone can have any confidence in her any more. Soler I’m fine with but Garcia was blatantly stupid the second it was announced and if she had any confidence that this bullpen was enough she’s a moron. There’s 0 vision and worse off there’s no creativity to create a sum greater than the whole of its parts. I’m a diehard fan of this team and this is my last offseason. If they go into next season with minor moves and feed us the same bullshit they did going into this year, im finding a new team or done with the sport entirely

I agree with this, but not dealing Pablo today doesn’t impact this.

                            what’s opening day look like?

if they do nothing, yes we all know the answer

This sounds a lot like what we were saying at the end of last year, no?
