      • It might happen this year too. Kick the tires on big names and get Rhodes and/or Pavano

We could still pull off a Hermida for Rhodes,Gomes and a prospect and of course there is still another day to go!!!

Another major name we were interested may be going to a different team.

              • Jays GM: I doubt Halladay deal will happen — 4:13 p.m.
The Roy Halladay sweepstakes appear all but over, with no winner.

"If we get through today and we're not anywhere, that would be a pretty good sign that it's done," Blue Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi told FOXSports.com at 4 p.m. ET Thursday, 24 hours before the non-waiver trade deadline.

"There are too many logistics for it to get done (tomorrow). For someone to come on the spot at the 11th hour, knowing they could have talked about this guy for a long time, I don't think that it's going to happen."

                We tried I guess.

                • 4:13pm: ESPN's Peter Gammons says the Reds "backed off a potential deal" for Rolen. The Reds are actually hoping to move some contracts, and will listen on Bronson Arroyo, David Weathers, Aaron Harang, and Arthur Rhodes. Plus there's the issue of the Jays not wanting to trade Rolen if they keep Halladay.
Basically ties in to what TJ was saying before.

                  Any updates, TJ?

Nope not really. Gammons got it right. They were talking 3 way but nothing came from it and like JP said kinda hard to work a 3 way out tommorrow at the 11th hr.

Only thing I have heard was the Hermida to Cincy for Rhodes,a bat(assume Johnny Gomes) and a prospect or 2

                      • 6:22pm: So just how much do the Blue Jays want for Halladay? Marlins president David Samson told 790 The Ticket that J.P. Ricciardi wants "two left legs, a right arm and a left cerebellum" for Doc, according to the Miami Herald.
                        lol

                        • Cody Ross told MLB.com's Joe Frisaro that he would trade for Roy Halladay and Matt Holliday if he were an MLB GM.

God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.

                              • I hope we do something tomorrow to improve this team. Also Vanden Hurk made a nice showing if the Marlins are indeed offering him around.
