Just speaking for me, if you said the power is never going to come, I would be OK with it if the rest improves.

The problem is, he fails at the basic fundamentals of a baseball player (like hitting line drives; 12.3% this season, and a 60% GB%) that I'm concerned he'll be able to do anything meaningful.

With those rates he could be a pretty good starter.

And just because it was the old favorite comparison for Cam:

        Mike Cameron (career): LD%: 19.5%, GB%: 35.2%
        Cam's big league career: LD%: 15.2%, GB% 55.7%

And because it's kinda funny, here's a random player's career batted ball numbers:

        LD%: 21.1% GB%: 45.3%

Any guesses who? I'll give you a hint, it's a former Marlin....

          Spoiler:
        Dontrelle Willis

Mike Cameron's career LD% is 19.5%, the 30.8% you posted is his postseason number.

Also, Fangraphs doesn't have any batted ball info before 2002, so pretty much the first half of Cameron's career isn't included, which may or may not change the numbers even more.

You're correct, I looked at the wrong LD%.

            Point still remains.

              I miss watching Dontrelle get 3 or 4 AB's a week.

This may answer part of the question:

                http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/news/...=.jsp&c_id=fla

Mike Lamb was DFA'ed and Bryan Petersen was called up from New Orleans.

I don't think Stanton being called up necessarily means the electric chair for Maybin. I could be wrong though.

I don't know why but when Maybin does well/improves I get more enjoyment out of it than other players.

This is just my guess but I feel the same way Daft maybe since he was part of us trading one for the greatest hitters we've ever seen in a Marlins jersey. Also I've liked Maybin in general since he has joined the team.

Not if he keeps playing like this. A week ago Maybin was definitely the odd man out of the 3.
