Here's the plan:

We will be doing 19 rounds of the major league phase.

Starting with the 20th round, there will no longer be any eligibility restrictions. That means anyone you want is available. We will probably do around 15 rounds of the "no restriction" draft, or as long as the talent dictates.

The 3 hour rule is being enforced now because, as many owners have expressed to me, the talent disparity is not tremendous and the only question is whether or not you want a player of a certain position.

In the initial rounds of the "no restriction" draft, we will not enforce the 3 hour rule; we will, however, enforce the mandatory list for any club that has been auto'd to be taken off of auto. We realize there's strategy that goes into selecting prospects, but we're not going to allow an absent owner to hold the draft hostage.

Considering how often I've been asked if we could shorten this section or just allow teams to draft prospects from the first round, you'd think that people would be doing cartwheels instead of taking a passive aggressive stance when all we're trying to do is preserve the competitive integrity of the league and try to maintain some semblance of continuity.

Only thing I'm wondering is who picks first in the Minors draft? Is it Blackout Pact or Ralph? I just don't hope Raplh gets the opportunity to grab the best prospect, and the best MLB ready prospect in hanley. That could be a big problem for us other owners, win-loss wise during the season.

If it's a continuation, Blackout will pick. Blackout picks first in even numbered rounds. Ralph in odd numbered ones. This would start in Round 20.

My team is going to have to survive on its pitching for a while it seems. I do like my staff and bullpen loads thus far at least.

I'm just happy that I get the #8 pick in the "no exception" draft. I put a lot of focus on my hitting in the major league draft and I still need to fill out 3/5 of my rotation. With the #8 pick, I can at least get an awesome starting pitcher to add to Peavy and Carpenter.

I just hope my plan for how my team is assembled doesn't backfire and suck lol. Playing in Citizens bank park FTW or FTL(if you're one of my pitcher).

Heh, all my plans got deleted. I got to start from scratch---list wise/target wise.

Only good thing is that I found some hidden gems i missed before.

Old timer, but yeah I agree with this but some of the picks you make went a bit too old for me but to each his own.

I feel like the player development in this game is such a crapshoot, and I had a lot of success in the TBBC with a similar strategy. My only concern is the payroll, since we have a much lower cap here.

You're going to disagree when Barry Bonds puts up a .900 OPS as my first baseman.

I'm mixing mine up. I've picked some guys that will perform now but have also picked up some guys that can improve and be good down the road. I plan to do the same in the minor league draft.
