Why was Atlanta auto'd 1 1/2 hrs before the pick was due? I'm sending a list for Edmonton. Please use it.

This is why, it's been up since last night:

We're going to go ahead and institute the "speed up" rule.

(1) If you have been auto'd, you will continue to be auto'd until you send us a list. None of this "I'm here, don't pick for me" schtick. You miss your turn, you send us a list and then you're back in the good graces. Sending the list doesn't mean we'll automatically pick from it if you're online and say "wait a minute" but we're not going to let drive by "wait" picks hold the process hostage.

(2) If you've held the pick during "normal" hours (10 AM - Midnight during weekdays, noon-midnight weekends) for more than 3 hours, you are getting auto'd. Don't like that, send us a list. Don't like making lists, send us a guideline (best reliever under 40, best right-handed SP, etc).

Thank you. Any complaints can be shouted to the wind, because this is what we're going to do for the rest of the major league phase of the draft.

And, by all means, send a list for Edmonton, Atlanta didn't have one, and now needs one.

Because, since we're quite tired of owners just going to their "deadline" and creating a frenzy of an hour, we're speeding the damn thing up.

If you miss a pick, you miss a pick, and if you miss a pick, you're on auto until we get a list, we're not 'holding' this for anyone any more.

To say nothing of the fact that I think there are myriad problems with a non-commissioner owner drafting for another.

This is not me making it difficult, this is me seeing tremendous problems with both competitive and strategic elements to the league's most important event, the inaugural draft.

What's more, I am not going to accept any more correspondence from you regarding any official plans from Atlanta. You want to deal with PWG, that's fine, but the shenanigans you tried to pull via PM are not going to fly. You know Atlanta, tell him to send me a PM, I'll be happy to work something out with him.

What Shenanigans? I only asked that you use the same list of 12 guys to draft from for both teams. Both teams need MR so I made just one list to make life easier.

I'm just trying to help out Atlanta until he gets his comp up and running. He had told PWG that he is cool with me drafting his team for him until he gets up and running. Sorry if you guys think this is unfair or "not in the best interest of the league." If there is a problem, just go ahead and auto him. I was just trying to help a friend out.

Fine, auto Atlanta. I don't know why you are going out of your way to make this more difficult than it has to be.

To be honest in other leagues, other owners have had a massive problem having to wait for a surrogate to pick for a "semi-vacant" team.

I remember in one league, the commissioner did not care either way, as long as it did not slow down the process, but a small group went into a tizzy and voiced their displeasure rather publicly.

In short, the "Semi-Vacant" team was ostracized, and made an example of by the the "bully's" of the league.

Realistically, I feel Swifts and others biggest issue is the fact that between Atlanta and Ancorage, the league comes to a stand still--- face it, you yourself knuckleballs have better things to do then to pick players for a owner who barely visits the forum.

I'm sure there is some sort of work/school/sport/family you have to tend to and can't be playing on the computer all hours of the night.

Besides, is it that difficult to provide a list for Atlanta---or in your case Edmonton? It would just speed up the process is all.
EDIT: After reading your last statement, I can see the issue with you selecting for Atlanta. To be honest, I see a situation arising where you want a player, and you make a side deal for Atlanta (yourself or pdub) to select said player, in exchange for 2 players from a later round.
Friend or not, selecting for Pdub just isn't fair for others who are here and do make the time to make a list to submit. If he cares enough, you can pm him a list, and he can forward it to Swift/PWG. Other owners are putting the work into their organization, and he's coasting by on your coat-tails.
Granted he's been more active then Junior and another owner, but is he that much better?

I see the guys I found in Single A made it around the league, lol. Almost every dude on my list was selected in the last 2 rounds. LOL.
