The long and the short of it is this...

We expect what, at the very least, appears to be a unique, honest effort. Obviously we prefer something over nothing, but at the same time... when it seems like one guy is essentially building the other guy's team and it seems like there's little input from the actual owner... it just puts the commishes in a gray area because there are HUGE opportunities for shenanigans.

As far as I'm concerned though, unless someone can bring up a legitimate new concern on either side, the conversation has run its course. We, the commishes, want teams to be uniquely owned and operated... and you as owners do reserve the right to make your picks however you can.

Im sure, though, the issue will re-arise during the minors portion of the draft.

Quick thing---I have sent a list for the next few rounds. Anyway Swift or PWG can send me a PM back telling me who's still available? I just want to make sure my list runs deep enough (it was only about 20 names).

I had to reboot my computer from scratch tonight, and I'm in the process of reconfiguiring it and all the drivers/software needed. I won't be done til about 4am, and even then I won't even be up to the noveltys (ootp, aim, limewire, and firefox).

What a pain to find the drivers for an Acer computer. It's liek they want to gang rape you after you shell out the money for a bukkake.

I sent the list before the last two---lol. I actually think 15 names have been taken to be honest---with Jeff Davanon being one of them.

Well, I thought with everyone knowing my situation that there would be no issue, I cant send a list cause my pc is dead...I know knuckles very well and trust him to build me a better team than the comp. PWG you had no problems with this. Also the issue with taking all the time to make a pick...Why are we posting time limits that you get bitched at if you go by them...That whole idea is flawed..the correct way to fix that is to post the order and say you have X mins to pick after the guy before you picks. To post an 8:30 deadline for a pick and bitch at someone for picking at 8:29 is pointless and stupid. If it takes to long to draft fix the deadlines.....

thanks for picking f or me untill now knuckleballs but please auto the rest for me, unless you feel the computer is trying to pull some shenanigans in which case I guess I will fill my team with FAs when my pc is fixed.

I don't think they have a bigger issue with the current pick.

They said if you go on auto at any point, you are automatically autoed from that point on.

You were autoed in Round 11 or 12 I believe, which is why you were autoed again for round 13.

You also have 3 hours from the last pick to make your pick, something that PWG and swift have overlooked for you and Blackout pact. (HENCE: the 3 hour rule, which is being enforced now).

If the hammer came down on blackout for taking his time, it's only fair it comes down on yourself and knuckleballs.

Is the three hour going to be there for the minor league phase?

Wouldn't it just be better to enforce the deadline?

I mean, not knowing when your pick will be is rather gay. I don't really care for the ML draft since it's almost over so not saying about that but I hope it's not there for the MILB draft.

Tonight, after maybe the 14th round (depending on when Swift gets back or is ready to help finish, whatever) I'm going to be reformatting my computer and then upgrading to Windows 7. As a result, after tonight, I may not be available for a day or 2.

Nah, my hard drive got dinged a while ago, knocked out some important .dlls... my system restore is broken, as is my windows firewall and some system process I can't remember... I've basically been keeping it on life support for the longest time.

Here's the plan:

We will be doing 19 rounds of the major league phase.

Starting with the 20th round, there will no longer be any eligibility restrictions. That means anyone you want is available. We will probably do around 15 rounds of the "no restriction" draft, or as long as the talent dictates.

The 3 hour rule is being enforced now because, as many owners have expressed to me, the talent disparity is not tremendous and the only question is whether or not you want a player of a certain position.

In the initial rounds of the "no restriction" draft, we will not enforce the 3 hour rule; we will, however, enforce the mandatory list for any club that has been auto'd to be taken off of auto. We realize there's strategy that goes into selecting prospects, but we're not going to allow an absent owner to hold the draft hostage.

Considering how often I've been asked if we could shorten this section or just allow teams to draft prospects from the first round, you'd think that people would be doing cartwheels instead of taking a passive aggressive stance when all we're trying to do is preserve the competitive integrity of the league and try to maintain some semblance of continuity.
