i know he's good at throwing guys out with the arm, but how does he grade out defensively? I havent watched his defense nearly enough to know whether he is a good defensive catcher aside from having a strong arm.

I have no idea about metrics, but watching him on an almost daily basis he seems damn good to me.

lol, just looking at alfaro on fangraphs, the 3.8 BB% is comically bad. But man for a guy who k's that much and walks that little its pretty remarkable that he seems to be a consistent mid .700s OPS guy.

He grades out as pretty good defensively according to fangraphs measurement.

I honestly don't think I would ever throw the ball in the strike zone if I was pitching to Alfaro. Dood just tied the game with a laser beam triple.

It's ridiculous that we're playing Riddle in CF and still giving him ABs. I mean, if someone is gonna suck hitting at least give Brinson or Sierra a chance.

Put Harold back in CF and play Austin Dean in LF every day until you're ready to call Brinson up again.

I can't argue against Sierra or Dean, but they are 7-15 days away from deflecting Brinson's super 2 status in 2021. He needs to stay down for that amount of time just in case he becomes a useful MLB player. It'll save a bunch.
