Id expect him to get a 3 year deal with a higher AAV or 4 year with less AAV. Id do 3 for 60 maybe frontloaded or 4 for 70.

That's not terrible, but if you just look at the deals we made and the timeline of those deals, if we kept yelich and JT for last year and then this year we would have had the pitching necessary based on the first few deals made. As it turns out, a full and complete teardown wasnt necessary because they did a good job getting pitching in other deals.
We wouldnt have Sixto, Yamamoto, and Stewart but theyd still have all of Alcantara, Urena, Smith, Lopez, Richards, Neidert, Gallen, Guzman, Cabrera, etc. Looking back they would have much better off stopping at yelich last year, calming everything down, and evaluating things for a year. I think it is much likelier JT re-signs if he sees the pitching coming into this year AND yelich is still around. One thing is clear though from the fact that they made the Yelich deal- They were not confident that the pitching they got in these deals would become what they have become. Guys like Pablo Lopez, Smith, Urena, Richards, etc. have exceeded their expectations clearly. And it's just so marlins that after years of developing these phenomenal position players and having this great core without any SP that we finally get SP the second we get rid of that core. I think we werent very close with that core, but if we had this rotation on that stanton 59 HR team we're in the playoffs.
