That was my twitter post that I just copied and pasted here. The point still stands. It's not like Urena has the best control in the world. He's the same dude who threw the first pitch of the season for a HR. People are overreacting on twitter asking for him to be suspended. Like WTF

So we hit him on purpose because.... he's destroyed us for 3 straight games? Baseball is stupid. I hope they start suspending these SP's who do this whatever their current suspension is times 5 so it is a true 5 game suspension. This shit is so stupid and the "old school" baseball stuff is really hurting the sport. It would be much more popular if they embrace technology and change.

Throwing baseballs intentionally at other human beings at 90+ MPH remains one of the stupidest things in all of sports.

I mean you must have real connections to Urena to know it was intentional. Also, if it was, why didn't the Umps eject him right away? Took them 10+ minutes? Urena hit 14 last year and 11 already this year.

I'm having a hard time with this one. Urena has plausible deniability because he pitches inside and because he hits a lot of batters. But let's face it, the Marlins are scuffling pretty badly and over the last two series with the Braves, Acuna has basically embarrassed them. The Marlins or Urena could've been looking for a spark, plus with it having been the first pitch of the game...it stinks to me.

They lose pay for those 5 games though FWIW. Even if a SP is only delayed a game, that does matter to lose money. Urena is club controlled, so it's only going to cost him $15-20k though. If Barraclough did that, it would be double, and Straily x7 of Urena.

Maybe you increase it to 7 games, but the union will fight it to protect the players.
