Actually I think deciding to keep players like Barraclough, Straily, Castro, and Dietrich because they've been "playing pretty good" over the past 2 months is a very Loria move. Then he'd change his mind the next season and trade the players when their value is lower.
This team has been playing well and is fun to watch most nights, but they aren't close to a contending team...certainly not close enough not to move a few trade-able assets when their value is at their peak. Nobody is saying to give them away. If the offers aren't good enough, then hold onto them all....but it seems like right now, there is a good market given the Hand trade. The Marlins would be wise to cash in on a few of these guys...especially the relievers.
