WE have a real chance to add to a system in the next months thru this offseason. We seem to have a bunch of upper minors quality SP prospects to the point where at least 2-3 will inevitably pan out out of Richards, Gallen, Smith, Alcantara, Peters, Lopez, Neidert, then you have guys like Guzman, Rogers, and Garrett, plus whatever picks they make and players they get in future trades. With the remaining trade assets we should go hard after quality hitting depth in the system and we'd really have something in year 1 of a rebuild, which is really encouraging.

wish it made sense for the red sox to take on chen's remaining contract cause id love hanley for chen for us. No one is taking chen until he is an expiring deal though unfortunately.

chen, prado, and barraclough for hanley.

Also, since we will have a glut of pitchers that will be ML ready by the end of the year, id like to see us bring most of them up out of the bullpen if we run out of rotation spots just so that they can get that big league experience before spring next year cause i think that can definitely be beneficial to their development going into an offseason of training.

As for glut of pitchers, like said don't be surprised to see us trade Urena/Straily and Chen. Chen could be dealt to a team who needs SP and has an crappy player with expensive contract but less years on it. Say expires after 2019
Get talent back in trades that does NOT need to be on the 40 man.(Meaning A Ball or lower) U can never have too many arms as long as they are layered. Meaning we have enough SP ready for 2019/20 so start looking for guys who will be in AAA/AA by 2020
2020 Jax Rotation(Right Now)-Garrett/Rogers/Cabrera/Roberson/Alberto Guerrero?/1 or 2 guys from this draft?Last edited by tjfla; 05-25-2018, 03:29 PM.

Ya, the Chen potential deal would be similar to the deal the braves made with the dodgers with I believe Kemp and I think that was the kazmir deal as well. Give a team a SP and we get a position player who can slot in for a year and be replacement level and get the salary relief a year sooner.

I see I have been gone for a while but tjfla is still reading mlbtraderumors or twitter and then coming on here and doing his "i am hearing" and "rumors are" schtick.
I dont know what his fascination is with people thinking he is some kind of insider.Amy Adams, AKA Cinnamon MuffLogan Morrison: "If baseball didn't exist, I would probably be ... like a curler. Or a hairstylist."

I thought you were going to do that thing you do when a Marlins player gets hurt (Prado has a serious hamstring injury).

It appears Prado is going to be out for a long time, perhaps the rest of the year. I feel terrible for him and now the Marlins lose any possibility of trading him. The curse of the Loria contracts continues.
My guess is Riddle comes up and he and Rojas split time at 3rd and SS. Riddle deserves to be on the MLB roster, but I would prefer they call Dean up and put Anderson back at 3rd.
