he had a really bad spell from when he got back from the IL. He's been good lately and was great to start the year before he got hurt. But yes, we will have a log jam. Considering we have no other 3b they might as well just keep him there for now.

last time he was prospect eligible in preseason last year, Stowers was the 9th rated orioles prospect, ahead of mayo, kjerstad, and basallo, with a 45 FV but a 60 power. from BA

I said I would want a FV45+, FV45, and FV40 for Rogers, or, a FV45, FV45, FV40+. Or you just keep him.

Norby and Stowers aren't FV45+ (I know fish16 says BA has him FV50, but for ROGERS that's not a thing. Rogers isn't getting a FV50. Let's all agree BA is too high, and FG is too low and he's a FV45. The bat should play even if positionless).

Stowers is also a FV45 based on last prospect report.

So they should be getting a third player from Baltimore.


This makes perfect sense and is a tremendous return for just Rogers. Are we confirmed this is a 3-1 or did we throw in a RHP reliever?

It’s a 2 for 1. Norby and Stowers. That’s how it’s being reported. The “one more player” was in addition to Norby. Baltimore fans are apoplectic right now, and people are calling this the most lopsided deal so far. I think people might be taking a myopic view on Rogers, but this feels like an excellent return.

If teams are overpaying I wouldn't be opposed to dealing Burger. Maybe a contender hoping the recent hot streak along with how he performed after moving last season buys high.

Burger, Fortes, and DLC are dead men walking.


This is getting a little OF heavy and Marsee, Dane, and Sasaki/Pintar better show up as they should probably have 2 dedicated 3B here.

Oh boy do DDLS and Berry, and maybe Dane, have an opportunity and path at 3B right now.

Norby is also never playing 2B with Serna and Edwards here longer term. Sanoja too.

It sounds like he’s just speculating, but Morosi says Norby could be the every day 2B, or move to 3B. I think I’d agree and keep him in the IF.

This isn't apoplectic. This is fine for everyone. Norby might be a lefty starter in LF only, and Stowers is volatile. There is huge upside with them though.

Rogers is a fine 4th/5th SP, with bullpen floor, cheap, and proven.
