    • Cueto got rocked yet again for 6 runs in the first two innings in AAA. If they throw him up here it shows they are not serious about winning. Mish says he’s not starting but idc about what role they put him in, he has no business being on a major league roster at this point

      • Xavier Edwards went 3-5 yet again last night with a double a stolen base and no k’s. Up to .365 and an .894 ops and 19/20 steals

Come to think of it, Friday nights Puk disaster was the most brutal Marlins loss I’ve seen in person.

          • X-man needs to be in Marlins lineup. He can play 2B or left field ... I think the arm is subpar for CF or left side of infield. If he can play center adequately (the speed alone should help there) then Dane can replace Segura at 3B (that will happen anyway when Jazz returns). Berti, Wendle and Segura have all been worse this year than last - and they weren't much good last year either.

Key is to bat Edwards leadoff and drop Arraez to the two hole.

Sure wish Burdick could stem the flow of strikeouts. Everything else about him shines.

Austin Allen. If he can hit .200 like Stallings and Fortes and block pitches, his power would play.

It was the Atlanta curse! The pinch hitter Pache was a Braves top prospect. On top of that, he helped put Matt Olson in a Braves uniform as a piece of that trade.

I really think he could be a starting caliber player for us right now. It took Jazz and Davis getting injured in short succession for Dane to get his shot. I fear it would take something similar to allow Edwards to get his shot.

A fully healthy lineup could look like this:

                1. X. Edwards 2B
                2. Arraez 1B
                3. Soler RF
                4. Jazz CF
                5. Cooper DH
                6. Myers 3B
                7. DLC/Sanchez LF
                8. Wendle/Berti/Segura RF
                9. Catcher

You could then include one of DLC/Sanchez in a Pirates trade getting us Bednar/Rich Hill/McCutcheon. Then acquire a catcher and you make run at the playoffs.

                • Dlc hitting 3rd once again today. Why does everyone besides him seem to have consequences for terrible play? Move Cooper there and move dlc down already. He’s been horrendous for 2 out of the 3 months again this year

If you are going to platoon with Sanchez, might as well go with Burdick vs the lefties. I don't send any fan mail to De La Cruz.

Speaking of lineups, look at what Skip wrote up for this afternoon's game. Dane Myers, with the best team batting average for July, is hitting last. Do you really want to get Segura, Wendle, and Fortes to the plate more than Myers?? For the record DLC is 5-30 for July. Myers is 7-18.

                    • Segura has been pretty damn good since he got back by the way. Been hitting .317 with a .768 ops

This is an interesting idea as another piece. The Pirates could use a young right handed outfielder (gotta chuck out Sanchez here). Suwinski and Swaggerty (who is a lower than Burdick level prospect as this stage) are lefties, Cruz is a lefty if he eventually bounces out to LF which may happen. Reynolds switches, Endy Rodriguez switches and could pop out in the OF, but is going to play mostly catcher. Davis who knows what they are doing but is a right hander. I would play him 60 behind the plate and 75+ at DH (because Endy is likely better defensively and gets 100+ C starts eventually). I still think this costs you Eder/DLC/Fitterer sort of package. Is Bednar now worth Eder is the question. Everyone else here nets off or doesn't matter I imagine.

Have you seen a defensive report on Myers also?
