  • Eury's great, he was obviously ready.

Monteverde is actually a pretty good prospect, Lee talked him up a little too much, but good on him for bringing attention to him early.

    End of story.

        • 4 games over .500. 17-41 royals coming to town followed by the 25-35 white Sox. Need to be at least 7 over by the end of this stretch

          • Trevor Rogers threw 5 innings at AAA today, gave up only a hit. The question is how do you utilize him? To me, the answer is obvious, but I don't think they have the balls or ingenuity to do it. Pair him with Eury. Eury goes 5 Rogers goes 4 or vice versa. The bullpen gets a rest. You can't pull Garrett out of the rotation, IMO. He's arguably our most consistent pitcher right now.

              I'm not sure he is broken. This line doesn't make sense at all - 7 IP, 6 H (5 1B, 1 2B), 0 BB, 7 K, 0 HR, 5 ER

I feel this has happened a half dozen times this year + the Philadelphia disaster. I'd say he isn't as good as last year, but he's also closer to last year then whatever his line is this year and a lot of this is some random fluctuation/confidence/poor manager decisions keeping him in. I'm not worried.

He isn't broken, but their is definitely a trend of him letting innings get out of hand. He needs to make an adjustment.

Pounding the table YES. I'd say Rogers gets the larger load though so Eury doesn't get shut down. He probably maxes 120 IP or so. I think I saw Mish say maybe 110, but that's likely very conservative.

And once Cueto is back, do the exact fucking same thing with Garrett and Cabrera. Both those guys shouldn't be throwing huge numbers this year too. They will all get their innings and no one's development is going to be curtailed at all.

                  Sandy
                  Luzardo
                  Eury + Rogers
                  Cabrera + Garrett
                  Cueto

Basically let the bullpen loose for Luzardo and Cueto days at the faintest sign they are struggling. Pen should be very rested days 2 and 5 after back to back days of Eury/Rogers and Cabrera/Garrett 3 and 4. With Sandy still throwing 7 when he struggles. And I think his performance will resolve itself any game. To note, Cueto can probably throw the most innings assuming everyone is healthy which is why he is the solo here. Throw him into the ground if he can handle it I say.

Floro, Chargois, Brazoban (Hoeing, Nance, Soriano)
                  Puk, Scott, Okert (Nardi)

I feel bad for Nardi here as who sends a xFIP of 3.61/10+ K/9 to AAA, but it is a numbers game and all 6 of those guys actually have a lower xFIP right now which is just mind blowing awesomeness.

Please trade for another bat as soon as possible Kim. Don't let beating up on the weaker schedule fool you that major upgrades aren't needed.

Only thing I’ll say is Cueto will need to prove that he can be effective to get that job.

Wouldn't that seem reasonable? Maybe have to throw two or three quality starts at Jacksonville before getting the call? Maybe have to pitch nearly as well as Brian Hoeing?

But that won't happen. Cueto will trash the Miami mound no matter what.

We'll see, Cueto was a good signing based on his career, he had a great year last year, this year whether he's come in out of shape or it's just simply been injuries he's looked bad, but certainly not within the realm of possibilities that he comes back healthy and pitches well. That's exactly what he did last year, was injured most of the first half, came back and was the White Sox best pitcher in the 2nd half.

Certainly an over-reaction. He is strong and healthy and has been unlucky. Still has high trade value - just not what it was.

                              • the numbers for Arraez compared to tony gwynn at this point in their careers are crazy similar. What a great trade that was. Arraez like i said before the trade is the best pure hitter in baseball. Just a great player. And pablo after a hot start has come back to life. Good trade for both teams, but that was the ideal way to trade from a strength like we did. Need 1-2 more of those moves and then we will be cooking.
